Tchuchuca (Tati)'s Planning Thread!

Recommended Posts

Okay, my planning thread is not NEARLY as AMAZING as the ones a lot of the ladies here have done, but I want to be a good BDW Bride, so here 'ya go!

Thank you all so much for the well wishes, ideas, and your knowledge of destination weddings! I always knew a DW was the way I wanted to go, but I could've never done it without you girls (especially all of you on the Royal thread)! smile03.gif

We leave Wednesday for Playa del Carmen and will be married at 4pm at the Royal Playa del Carmen!

My E-ring and Wedding band...

I absolutely love it! You can't see it well in the pic, but it's got diamond chips on the prongs surrounding the solitare- so cute!

FI's Ring (bought online at Personalized Jewelry | Custom Mother's, Name & Men's Jewelry | Limoges Jewelry) Very easy to work with, great prices and a great product!

FI's wedding clothes:

I forgot to take a pic of the shirt, but it is a white shirt with white embroidery from CubaVera and linen/silk pants from Perry Ellis. He's going to wear it untucked with my favorite wedding accessory...

His Havaianas! I'm addicted to these flip flops! (It's also a little tiny bit of my Brazilian heritage snuck into the wedding!) FI and the Best Man will be wearing these!

My dress (kind of)

I didn't think with how casual FI will be dressed that it would be appropriate to have a foofy dress, so I ordered a bridesmaid dress from Alfred Angelo and had them make it in white. Below is a pic from when I first started trying dresses on and knew this was the casual, beachy look I was going for! It's white on white now, not orange and yellow, but you get the idea!

Next thread coming soon!

My sister is my Maid of Honor and I bought her this dress on CLEARANCE at Nordstrom's for $75!

She's not totally in love with it, so I'm still debating on forcing her to wear it (and going all Bridezilla on her!) or letting her wear a more casual BM dress that she picked out for super cheap. We're just going to take both to Mexico and see what feels right at the time!

Here are her shoes bought on Ebay

My Jewelry was bought from a FANTASTIC Etsy seller named Virginia Geiger! She made me this necklace called Pearly Girly and it's PERFECT to dress up my dress a little more! The drop earrings with the 4 pearls are the ones she made for me as well. They're made out of Swarovski Pearls (didn't know they existed, but hey- works for me!)

To add a little bling to my dress, I bought a starfish bouquet jewel and made it into a brooch to put on the sash tie on my dress

I'm going to have my hair done just like my legal day 2 weeks ago... here's a pic if you didn't see my post!

My hair flowers were bought from Plumeria's Flower Boutique and she was AMAZING to work with! I would recommend her to any destination bride!

Almost done, I think!

We've paid a little extra for upgraded decor at the ceremony and this is the pic that Lili sent us...

I pray it's this pretty!

AND to save even more $$$ (and luggage space) she's letting us use the extra fabric and flowers to decorate the reception space! It's gonna be perfect!

We wanted an edible favor for our guests and I saw these favor boxes on the Ghiradelli website and was set! They have 9 pieces of chocolate of assorted flavors

    • It’s been years... and I’m now searching for the same in Montego Bay or Negril. Did anyone ever have any luck finding?
    • Hello, I'm new to this site. I got engaged already and get married by next year. I have some doubts regarding our dating destination. Hope you will help me. Thank You!
    • Hello everyone,
Well, this upcoming valentine's day is special for me because I got engaged and planning to spend the day with my fiance. I'm planning to give her an ethical jumpsuit.

Other than that I have been searching the internet for some nice discounted coupons and searched among my friends and found different sites. Now, we are looking forward to that wonderful day. We searched a lot and found out, Escape The City. Orangeville is a great place for a day trip or weekend gateway from Toronto.
Theatre Orangeville is offering a weekend package that includes 2 tickets to a Live performance at the theatre, Premium Overnight Accommodations at Best Western Plus Orangeville Inn and Suites and $75 Downtown Wine and Dine Voucher which is valid at select Downtown restaurants, and Free Entry to the scenic Trails & Bridges of Island Lake.

We are so excited and eagerly waiting for that day.
If anyone has got any other suggestions for the venue, kindly share your thoughts/ideas.
      Thank You!

    • Please tell me, the best wedding venue in Saskatoon, SK.
    • Hey everyone! Like the others here, I'm interested in wedding reception, venue and all related steps & stuff. Starting with my first and the most important note is that we're international couple and we need to think of bilingual wedding. So the first thing we need to think of is whether it will be interpretation or 2 different venue coordinators, sermons and stuff? What is your experience, what could be the best and affordable solution? From googling the issue I've found this Interactio app team ( describing possible solution here  http://blog.interactio.io/case-study-weddings )Basically they offer to hold the venue in the main language, additionally providing simultaneous interpretation online to other quest's mobile phones. Looks like really easy and creative idea. What about the others? How did you solve this kind of obstacle? Any additional advises would be very welcomed here
