We are getting legally married right before we leave for Cancun. We decided this would make things easier on us, not having to worry about blood tests. And our symbolic ceremony in Cancun will still be so special!! No one knows so it will be our little secret...

BTW...congrats kiki!!!

Congrats!

I'm planning to have my legal ceremony before leaving for cancun. it's so much easier than doing the blood test thing that is required in Mexico.

That sounds like fun. I may do something like this as well. :)

We, too, plan to do a symbolic ceremony at Secrets Maroma Beach Resort in October. I have a friend that legally got married in Mexico and said it was a headache and she wished she had just done a "Symbolic Ceremony". Plus, we wanted to bring our own pastor!!

Not sure when we are doing our real wedding here..we might wait, who knows?!

We planned a big honeymoon leaving Jan 2010, and we don't want to risk any issues with my passport b/c of the name change!!

We actually got married waaaay before hand in March and our wedding is in November. It was matter of living together, actually moving together from NC to Canada...and me being able to work in Canada.

It was short, sweet, and both our marriage day and wedding day will be special to us :)
