Getting pictures taken before the actual ceremony??

Recommended Posts

I'm choosing to do the pics after because I like the idea of him seeing me for the first time coming down the aisle. I'm hoping my photographer is quick so we don't take too much time before reception. I guess it would be less time consuming if we did photos before, but I'm a hopeless romantic.

We did photos of just us an hour before our ceremony too! Our ceremony was at sunset, so for lighting we needed our pics done beforehand... plus, it made everything less rushed between the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception...and let us enjoy the cocktail hour with everyone:-)

Thanks for all your input ladies! I guess I was worried about the walking down the aisle part not being as special anymore, but our photographer did say the first look photos would be really special as well, and we would have more time to 'be in the moment' :) ... but we may keep the first look pics to a minimum, maybe 1 hour (we were going to do 2 hours), hopefully I wouldn't need to re-do hair and makeup!

We are having our first look at the wedding, we are having our reseption under a beach house right there so it wont take to long to get back to the guest and also we are doing the TTD the next morning, so if we missed any pics we can do them at sunrise and not sunset!

We didn't see each other until I walked down the aisle. The "first look" was the single most special part of the entire ceremony. I am very private and didn't want that experience public, but am so glad now that it was... everyone was in tears and they're all people who love you, so it's special all around. Of course, it'll be special either way you do it, so don't worry too much.

We are still undecided on doing first look pictures. I really want to do them, because I want to lower the chances of me being a blubbering mess throughout the ENTIRE ceremony, and the ones I've seen I've really loved!

Matt is a little more opposed to them...he seems like he'd rather have the first look at the wedding. So I'm not sure what we'll do!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
