Ideas for guests to get to know each other?

Recommended Posts

I went to a destination wedding last year and the bride and groom had a hilarious game that really helped the guests at the party get to know each other...almost like a grown-up "ice breaker." I am looking for suggestions of games/activities that other brides are doing that will get the guests opened up and interacting...

Thanks!

We're listing an interesting fact about each person and you have to ask around to find who it is. Some examples we have: This person has photographed Bill Clinton. This person was in Aruba when Natalie Holloway disappeared. This person was valedictorian in high school.

We'll have a prize for the person who gets all of the answers first. When FI and I were starting to work on this, he didn't know mine! We'll have to ask some people to come up with one themselves, but I think it'll work out well.

I remember reading about the buttons/pins, and thought that was a great idea! I tried searching for it but cant find anything...anyone remember who it was that did that?

Two truths and a lie is a great one!

It goes just like it sounds. Each person tells everyone else two truths and one lie about themselves, it is then the job of the group to guess which one was the lie. Ends up getting pretty silly, but you learn a lot of conversation starters in a little bit of time-- also, I find everyone tries to one-up one another, so the truths and lies get pretty interesting.

I actually bought a few sets of this wedding trivia game I found online on ebay. It's only available in the UK. I figured I'd put a set at each table so everyone can play....it's kind of like a pop culture trivia game but all questions are related to something romance related...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
