I ordered via Ebay.  The seller's name is Vivian.  Her email address is: [email protected].  She is in China and sometimes her English wasn't great...but it wasn't difficult to communicate and she was good to work with.  (relatively quick response considering the time differences). It took about 45 days from the time I ordered the dress to when I received it.  And that was because I requested changes to it---and then there was a 2 week period when they weren't working due to a Chinese Holiday.

Hope that helps!

Amie

Ladies, what is your input as far as alternations after the dress comes in from China, do you think that most of the time its minimal alternations? the dress that i like is on sale at the bridal shop 50%off. It was originally $850, now its half off. But the size is way to big and it needs some work, they quoted me 350-400$ for the alternations. To pay for the dress $450 is totally fine by me, but $400 in alternations sounds a lot to me. So i was thinking to order mine from dressylime or jasmine...but there is no way to predict how much work in alternations i may need. cheesy.gif

Hi everyone! I'm trying to figure out who the best company is to order from. The dress I want is tulle, but I haven't seen many tulle dresses on here, so I can't get a good frame of reference. Any advice? Thanks!   http://www.landybridals.com/ball-gown-wedding-dresses-sweetheart-brush-train-white-h2gr0035.html

Also, does anyone know who the original designer of this dress is? I tried using Google Goggles, but it didn't work. :(

Oh gosh yes! I was a bit hesitant at first, but I did a trial run with a couple bridesmaid dresses. I just ordered my wedding dress and am waiting for results! I'll post about it as soon as it comes in.

The company I used is called ForHerandForHim.com, and they're awesome! They have dresses that are what I would call knock off inspired haha. It's like they took a popular and expensive design and made it their own in a way. All the dresses require personal measurments, and were custom made for my bridesmaids. The prices are awesome and since the colors are standardized I just let all my bridesmaids pick whatever dress they thought would fit their body type best as long as it was available in my color scheme. I had to give tons of measurements for my dress (I cheated and splurged on getting measured at a tailor), but the dress I chose is very fitted so I really can't complain.

To Skygirl:

I must be missing something obvious---but I don't think my REPLY button is working or something. But--this is to your question above.  :)

I received my dress and I had sent the maker my measurements.  After reading the forum, I was worried the dress may run small.  To combat this I requested a corset back instead of a zipper...and I measured my height with my 5 inch heels.  That way if it was off slightly I could adjust with the corset and change out the height of my heels.  The fit of the dress seems pretty spot on.  It is a bit too long though (which is WAY better than too short).

In all...my alterations will be:

  • Minor at the bust
  • Adjust length
  • Bustle

I haven't received a quote for this but I'm guessing a couple hundred.  However, even if I'd purchased a dress from a store, chances are I'd at least have those alterations needed anyway.  So the fact that my dress was less that $200 totally helps.  I never found anything in the stores even for $1000 that I like as much as I love my replica dress.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
