Playa Fiesta Weddings

Recommended Posts

I am currently planning a wedding at Playa Fiesta, but have yet to have the contract inked. I am waiting to hear back form guests on availability before we commit to 20 rooms for the partial takeover.

Did anyone have issues filling their block? Did you use a travel agent or company to help book group travel? I am concerned about offering a most stress-free experience for my guests and one that is reasonably priced.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I would say that it could be done, but you would have the basic package for many things or skip certain things (if your budget is for the entire cost of the wedding, including flights, dress, room cost, etc).
This is my big concern - having to pay for rooms unused. Do you mind my asking how many people ended up not coming / rooms that were left unfilled?

Thanks!

We are also doing the 15-room booking for the wedding... and don't really have it in our budget to pay for others' rooms... hope we can fill it!
How does the 15 room booking work? Are you responsible for paying off the 5 remaining rooms that are part of the partial takeover? We have enough confirmed guests to handle a 15 room block, but not 20 so I am hesitant to sign a contract.

Any advice on this would be great!!

Thanks!

Hi Sarah - it's hard to say how many people will or won't show, it really depends on your group. I had a hard time filling the room but other brides on here had a hard time because they had more guests than rooms!

The contract is your contract, the number of room in your contract is what you are responsible for. So if your contract is 15/20/30 rooms, you are responsible for paying for that # of room, even if they are empty. We had a 15 room contract and filled all of the rooms but paid for a few rooms as some friends couldn't afford it. Since we were already paying for it, it was better to at least have people in the rooms in our opinion.

PF isn't a hotel that you can package up, or sell through travel agents. If you get a TA, it would be for flights only and maybe transport from the airport to the hotel.

Honestly if you have questions about the rooms / cost / contract ask the hotel. They're great at giving you detailed info.

Oh, just in case anyone wants to cut and paste from my website, hasn't been updated in awhile but here: katelynnandbill.com
Also under the "book your trip tab" is all the booking instructions. It is a good idea to make sure your guests have the step by step to save you some time. I also made a little front/back card with these instructions and put it in my invites, just an idea.
Kate,

Do you still have this info? I tried accessing your site and of course its down -been quite a while since it was live.

Thanks!
Sarah

Hi Ladies!

I'd let everyone know that I actually just started working with Playa Fiesta to help coordinate weddings. This is a recent development, and I'm very excited. However, I won't be able to post on this thread any longer. I've had a wonderful time getting to "know" a lot of you girls, and I wish you all the best of luck. If you are in the process of planning your wedding at Playa Fiesta, I look forward to working with you!

Holy cow! Mel that's great - I can't wait to hear more from you and Lindsay. How perfect!

So this is the first time that I have logged on since the wedding - returning to packing, moving, and maaaassssss amounts of work has kept me from spending time on here. I'm working on my review, which like Magalie's, is a work in progress and going to take a while...

But in the meantime, let me say it was absolutely wonderful!! Nathen and I had a great time. My parents fell in love with Playa Fiesta, Nathen's family loved every minute and our guests are still talking about it. Even those guests (like my boss) that we were worried would miss the lack of gym, spa, other big resort amenities didn't think twice about it and had a fabulous time. The staff, Adam, Lindsay, and Blaire were all wonderful, and the rooms were all beautiful. More stories, reviews and raves to follow!

Good luck PF brides and I'd be happy to answer any questions. :)

Sara, I love the slideshow! I was curious to see your details since you seemed to have so many of them when you were talking with Blaire and Lindsay!

By the way, so many guests asked if you were Lyndsay's sister, because you two looked so much alike! :P

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
