Beaches Negril Brides - Post here!!

Carinne~

We did walk off the resort--to the left..After Beaches, it was Couples Resort.than after that there were a few shops/bars (Tshirts & hats are a lot cheaper down there than the resort..for example my husband saved $10 on a hat buying it down at the local store) .  Are there a lot of bars--no~not really but a few.  We never did get to Margaritaville or Rick's.  We were on a catamaran & stopped & watched the cliff jumpers for about 15 minutes.  The bride & groom did go to Rick's after we all left..said it was fun but spendy.  Beaches will take you to Margaritaville for free but you have to take a cab to go to Rick's.   As to the right of the resort..I walked that way but not very far.  Not much that way.

But the beach/sand is AWESOME.  I can guarantee you that.  The water was so clear & blue & you could walk out pretty far.

Are you taking children? I can tell you that it's a perfect resort for Families.  And another couple stayed at Sandles in Negirl & they told me they really like Beaches..they thought there seemed more to do?!    Let me know if you have any other ??'s.

Hello Everybody I'm new to BestDestination Wedding.  The information has been great.  I am getting married at Beaches Negril 12/3/11.  I've read that they have several weddings in a day.  What is that experience like???  Does it seem over crowded, impersonal?

Hello everybody i am new to this thread...... Getting married at Beaches Negril 12/3/2011!!!!!  I am driving my consultant Renee crazy with all of my questions so I am happy I found this forum to get more information!!!!!!!

After reading this forum I just had one concern.  With having multiple weddings in a day did anybody hear of anybody having difficulties having their ceremony and reception at the site they wanted????

On the 1 day we were there--the most weddings in one day was 4.  They appeared to be spread out in the day--I'm assuming the person who booked 1st got to pick their time.  I didn't think it appeared to be overcrowed or impersonal.  But..yes other guests at the hotel can watch your wedding from a distance.  I thought it was kind of neat & fun to watch a few other weddings while we there.  (again--not close up but from a distance)  I also checked out the deocrations on the tables at another wedding--it's kind of fun to see them! :)

My sister-in-laws wedding is on You tube if you'd like to watch it...the video on there is NOT EVEN CLOSE to as good as the video from the resort...I'm hoping she will put that up on youtube after the reception back home here in 2 weeks.  The video is just from an uncle.  If you can afford the resorts photography & video--DO IT. My sister-in-law & husband were very happy with both.

On youtube.. search  Dontje wedding      The rehearsal & wedding are both on there

Yes Renee is my coordinator also and she is great although you have to be patient.  IF you dont mind my asking what package are you doing??  We are doing the beautiful beginning and decorating it how we like.

@Seleanw yes you will get phone calls concerning the wedding.  They are really great and accesible.  I have a crazy schedule so i would just call to speak to them whenever i had a chance!!

We chose the seaside serenade theme......it's just exactly what I wanted!  And the colors happened to match exactly to our wedding party!  I agree you have to be patient with the responses but I have just set an expectation of 48 hours and generally that has been accurate for response time.....I considered doing the beautiful beginnings and just adding or changing to my taste but I heard that can get costly.  I had also found out that there was a special running where the "flutter of romance" was being offered for free or you could use the value of the $1600 as a credit toward another more expensive theme so really all I'm paying for the Seaside Serenade after the discount is $1200(FYI--this coupon is because we have a large group booking at least 10 rooms).  When I asked Renee she said I could use that credit no problem once I reached my 10 rooms.  Congrats and good luck with all your planning!

Yes it can add up but its still not as expensive at the tropical theme we wanted (not to mention paying a ridiculous amount of money per table for the theme).  And the other reason is because my favorite color is blue.  So we aredoing blue and yellow decorations and flowers.  Can you tell me more about this credit though???  I have signed up for the group wedding contract where we get certain things forbooking ten or more rooms but it didnt include that.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
