Gifts for the girls in our party... when do I tell them ?

I'm getting some manicure, pedicure and hair styling for all the girls in our party (my BMs and FI's Best Woman)... I'm wondering if I should tell them beforehand, so that they don't incur the expense (of getting the mani and pedi), or if I just put a gift certificate in their welcome bags... what do you think ?

I chose to tell my girls, and for a few reasons.

#1 I didn't want them to worry about it (scheduling or money)

#2 I didn't want them to waste their money before the trip on a mani or pedi

and #3, it gave them something to get excited about. Everyone loves being pampered!

I would absolutely tell them beforehand.. for the reasons above by Tlseeg!

I bought my BP's jewelry and some other selected items; but I already told them about the jewelry so they don't buy any themselves.
