Hi guys,

I am getting married at the Moon Palace 2010.

I have heard that they will not allow you to bring in a photographer from Mexico but you can bring one from outside the country.

I am a little confused, on some websites they have galleries of weddings they worked on at the Moon Palace?

Can anyone help me out on this please.

Many thanks!

angelalanahung, check with your WC because many resorts will allow outside photogs if they are a guest of the hotel. That's what we're doing -- we are getting our photogs 1 night at the hotel so they are considered a guest and then they are allowed (@ the barcelo maya palace).. The moon palace might have a similar policy.

Hi again guys. My WC got back to me today (finally after a month) It seems that you can hire a photographer from off resort and they can be from Mexico. You just have to purchase a day pass for them.

Thought I would clear that up as I know there can be some confusion regarding this :)

For the Moon Palace btw...:)

$120 extra if we have more than 35 guests to add them to the guest count.

Both packages are for 8 hours. I could ask Claudia to customize her package to 6 hours then it would be only maybe $500 less.

In our wedding package from our resort, we will get 24 free photos from Funever as well.

Photo quality is very important to me! Thanks for your advice, I appreciate it.

I actually emailed moon palace in reference to this policy see my email and response from Moon Palace below:

Hi Yenci,
Once you have booked your wedding with us, I will provide you with your on site wedding planner. At that time, your photographer is going to have to get in contact with the wedding planner so that they can advise the photographer of the documentation that needs to be provided to the resort. In this case, you will only have to purchase the wedding pass for her.

We do not allow outside vendors, so when you are making the reservation make a note in comments that you are bringing an outside vendor. That way we can make notes in our system and make the exception.

Thank you.

Kind Regards

Thank you Yesenia for getting back to me so quickly. I would have to pay for the photographer to stay at the hotel? That doesn't make sense if the photographer lives in mexico and will be coming only for my ceremony/reception? I thought that I would only have to pay the day pass for her? I have already booked her.

Hi Yencie,

If you were to take your own photographer, they would have to stay at the resort as one of your guests. As for the site inspection, please fill out the attached form and fax back to our office at your earliest convenience so we can schedule your appointment with an on site wedding planner.

Thank you for contacting us:

I haven't actually booked a photographer yet btw...lol I'm not even sure where we are getting married yet (debating between moon palace and dreams) but as you can see if you are persistant, it seems like they'll work with you! hope this helps!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
