This site has a lot of gowns on sale. Some are awful and some actually look great. Don't pay attention to the terrible pics - they say they are taken by a photograph at their storage location !

I never thought I would get my dress at David's Bridal, but I did. I love it. I spent $375 on it and it is perfect for my DW wedding. I went to bridal boutiques before going to David's, but I couldn't find anything light and flowy for the beach. Most of the dresses I saw were heavy satin and lace.

Absolutely doable...When you go to Bridal shops ask for their destination section. Dresses are usually lower priced as they are not made with as much material. Usually made with lighter chifon rather than heavy satin. If you find one that you like look for it online. One site that has dresses for really good deals is houseofbride.com, they are genuine not knock offs, just a discount site and they carry tons of deigners and free shipping within US. Also try bridalonlinestore.com I found one there I almost bought. Good luck.

I'm also a wedding planner here at home, and I always recommend (to a bride on a budget) to go see this seamstress we have in town and she does great work. She will make any dress for $300-$350. Look into seamstresses and their work in your home town. If you find a great one, then I say go into a bridal shop try on any dress you like, take photos of you in it, get photos off the internet and take it to the seamstress. Who cares if its a specific designer or not! You're wearing it for one day. Check it out.

I would also check out Davids like the girls said. I didn't think I'd find my dress, but I did!! I bought it during the $99 sale and I spent $270 when it was originally $400 and its perfect for my beach wedding.
