My resort wants to charge $8/tiki torch for my beach reception, which seems a bit steep because i know here in Canada I can get them for $1.00... so does anyone know if they are easily found in Playa del Carmen, and how much they would cost?!

This is just me being cheap, but hey that is $8USD which is $10CAD now!

There is a walmart, costco, sam's club, woolworths in playa del carmen, I'm sure you could find them there. They have them at home depot in cancun too.

You should post your question at Playa del Carmen Business Directory, Maps & Reviews | Riviera Maya, Mexico | In The Roo
Someone will have the answer for you there!
          Best of luck.

              Hello ladies,

Tiki torches may be cheap or expensive.... it all depends on the quality of the tiki torches.

The cheap ones you can find them (not always because is a seasonal product) in Walmart, Costco, Sams or Home Depot in 12 usd. more less each but BESIDES you have to buy the citronel (not cheap) and prepare them (very stinky).  Those tiki torches will not always work because if it is windy, the tiki torches will not work that is why some hotels are using metal tiki torches that are working only with gas so even if there is a lot of win, they will work.

That could be the reason why some hotels charge more than others.

              Hope it answers your questions!

                  Hey Ladies,

I was at Sam's Club this week and thought of this thread!  Here are the torches they had for sale.

PS. The picture is from my phone and in no way reflects Lori's AMAZING photography... hehe!

                  Happy Planning!
