Alyssa I just looked at expedia and mostly everything is booked out. My dad stayed at the best western in springfield, va and he said it was nice, I would recommend finding a place and calling them personally. A lot of the prices seemed outrageous.

Question - do you have to get a ticket to watch the parade?

Tickets are crazzzzy but maybe if FI has a few good weeks (he owns a night club) we can swing it. It's really a momentous occasion.

I just sent emails to all my senators and reps requesting tickets... I bet its a no go. One site said they have been accepting requests for over a year . I read that you do not need tickets to the parade.

I had my DH put in a request a while back but I doubt we will get on any list.

If you're looking for hotels outside of DC, try places around the Crystal City and Pentagon City area (Yellow/Blue lines). There are a ton of hotels there. They are close to the Reagan National Airport and about a 12 min ride into downtown.

I don't know what I'll be going to yet but definitely something! I think I might end up working at a few events, which is cool (even though I'll likely be like a check-in type person or whatever, some kind of gopher). But Alyssa, it would be fun to meet!!

hummmmmm. I would love to go but not sure if I can swing it. We have the DW in April.

If we did, this is something I would want to take my 12 year old son to as I would ant him to experience this moment.
