I'm going to see Oprah! & Beyonce!!!!

Recommended Posts

My bestest friend lives downtown Chicago. He called me the other day & said that he was invited by a friend to the Oprah show and Beyonce is the guest!

wtf.gif What about your friend in San Antonio!?!?!?

I told him I was happy for him but also jealous because I'm beginning to feel like Gabrielle on Desperate Housewives minus the two kids. With all of the wedding expenses I've cut down on hair & nail appointments, no massages,no shopping,etc.. Of course I am exaggerating, but I kinda feel like Gabrielle!

Anyhoo, he just called me today and asked me what I was doing November 12 (or did he say 11th?) before I could asnswer he said, "biatch you are going with me to the Oprah show!"

thewave.gif WOOOHOOOO!

I knew there was a reason I picked him to be my Man Of Honor!

I'm soooooo excited, I wanted to share it with you girls! smile123.gif

Now what the hell am I gonna wear?

I need to make my hair appointment?!

This is going to be a great girl event! friday.gif

I love him!!!!!!

That is so awesome! You definitely need to go get your hair done. The guests always look so put together when they go see Oprah! What a great friend. I'll be in Mexico otherwise I would say we should have a Chicago get together while you are here.

I've lived here my whole life too, and there are so many Chicago related things I haven't done. Going to see the Oprah show is a big one. I always wished I could get on the giveaway shows.

    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good  I enjoyed my stay at both, but personally I liked the ambiance better at Dreams La Romana.  In the past 10 years or so Destination weddings have become very popular and the resorts do 100's each year. 60 guests with approx 30 rooms or so is a great group, but when the resorts have 500+ rooms they do not look at it as a large group. Most resorts are pretty set when it comes to what they offer in their wedding packages, but some may do an upgrade for the bride & groom if it's available. The benefit of doing a group block is you have the opportunity to earn group amenities based on the number of guests & rooms that book at the resort.  Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks TA Patty      Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
    • My sister has done it but with the destination wedding, only super close family members and friends came since it was expensive and farther. It was great though.
