Hello ladies,
I'm not sure wheer else to put this and since we're getting married in Punta Cana....I thought to post it here.
We are having our Jack & Jill/Stag & Doe in October and wanted to get some ideas for prizes. We want to do a large ($300-$400) gift for the main raffle and we then wanted to have smaller ($100) gifts for the various games we're going to be playing.
Does anyone have any idea what we should get? We are buying these ourselves and want to make sure that they are something worthwhile that people will want to spend their money to win.
We will be having an auction table as well which will have a selection of gifts in the $20-40 range.
TIA
Sonia

i moved this thread to the appropriate forum. you do not need to post everything in the DR section, regular wedding stuff can go in the regular sections.
only stuff that is specific to the DR only needs to go in the DR section.

Things that I would compete for:
- Restaurant outings..maybe something unique
- Poker chip set or something similar
- Tools always work for the men
- Computer gear - like a cordless mouse, keyboard combo or external hard drive
- Camera - digital
- Movies, DVD's
- Ipod or Ipod accessories (stereo)
- Camping gear (tent, sleeping bags, etc.)
- Couple's photo session with a photographer
- Board games
- Name brand clothing (LuLu Lemon) - sweaters, jackets, etc.
- Art work (paintings, masks, etc.)
I hope that gives you some ideas!

How about seeing if can find some of the "hard to get" items like Wii or the Wii Fit, Xbox, etc?

I have seen some nice themed gift baskets. Loaded with items, like a portable gas grill, gift certificate to the grocery store, some grilling accessories, some marinades, seasonings and stuff related to the bigger item in the basket.
these have been big at parties I have to

Another basket was the "spa", it had a gift cert for a local massage, some lotions and candles and such. that was a big one for the gals

We're giving out booze, hockey stuff, lots of gift certificates for various things, bath & body works stuff. How about gift certificates for gas? Hehe... Tools are a good idea too... I'll have to use that one for sure! I havent put too much thought into what kinda prizes we're giving out.. guess I should get on that - ours is in February.

How about some sporting event or concert tickets? Blue Ray DVD player and booze (Texas mickey it!). You could make a nice wine and cheese basket. Hmm...all sorts of stuff!
