DREAMS PUERTO VALLARTA "thread"

Recommended Posts

I'm getting married at Dreams Villamagna but thought I'd ask the question here since the resort is so new. I have a general Dreams question that is probably addressed on this forum but I can't easily find an answer so...

For the Dreams Ultimate Package....are the white linens provided for the reception dinner? It doesn't list that on what is included but I am pretty sure just white table clothes, chair covers, etc are included?

Thanks,

-Jen

We had some debate over this a while back. Here is the answer from the WC at Dreams PV.

[Autumn] Can you please confirm that the package I purchased (Ultimate) includes chairs, chair covers, and all the linens for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.[Rebeca] yes, the package includes, chairs, white chair covers, white linens and bows for ceremony, cocktail and reception, tables and bar set up.

Thanks! It's getting really close and I am kinda stressing. :o)

Do they charge extra for a beach gazebo at Dreams PV? I want the wedding on the beach and with the Ultimate package only the chairs, runner, and ceremonial table are included not the gazebo. They are quoting me $290 - $300 for a gazebo with flowers plus flower petals and the tiffany style chairs.

I am starting to question if the Ulitmate pkg is even worth it since I have to pay for the gazebohuh.gif Except I wouldn't get the music for the cocktail hour, extra pics and dvd, and spa treatment..

Hey girls, I just got an email back from Rebeca confirming what everyone's saying about photographers & day-passes:

me: We've hired Fer Juaristi out of Monterrey as our photographer and I was wondering if we need to pay for a day pass for him to come photograph our wedding at Dreams. [Rebeca] no, just let me know the time he will be coming and if you want to pay for his dinner.

me: Also, we'd like to make sure he has something to eat for dinner so would we just pay for an extra plate of the dinner menu we pick? What's your experience with this? And is there a separate table for vendors to eat at or should we plan a spot for Fer and the DJ? [Rebeca] if you want to pay for their dinner, you can do it and we will set a separate table for them.

I also asked about a couple things on the menu:

me: Also about the menu, what type of fish is the "fillet of fish provencal with mango sauce"? and what is the crab & citrus salad like? [Rebeca] it is mahi mahi, the salad is a mix of crab meet with some citrus juice and mayonaisse dressed with the mango vinaigrette, fresh and delicious.

i know that you're a noob, and i REALLY hate to sound obnoxious, but read the thread!! it's here as a resource, not for the same questions to be asked over and over again. my review includes hair and makeup done at dreams salon.

embarrest.gif Oops sorry. I've just been reading all the updates for so long I've forgotten what's at the beginning of the thread! Guess it's time to go back and re-read.

I am officially confused! I tried to attach what the WC at Dreams VM sent me, to no avail....I tried 4 times and upload fails each time..grr.. Anyhow, they are pics of different styles of beach arbors with different flower/decoration styles. There are like 8 different options ranging from $180 - $300. When I asked the WC if these were included in my package she said "no."

Should I be paying extra for this? Exactly what is meant by a "beach front arbor" at Dreams?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

-Jen

Hey Jen,

I believe what she means is that the packages at Dreams do NOT include decorations around the Gazebo or Arbor whichever you are using. It does include the ceremony table flower arrangement, but if you want any flowers around the Gazebo/Arbor, that is extra. Does that make sense? Chime in others if you know anything else!

hey girls,

So I got information from the Dreams Spa in case any of you are missing it.

I'm not sure if some of your guests rcvd a $100 coupon to the Spa - I know some online wholesalers have it...but, there are some details about how your guests can use those "coupons"

The resort credits (100 for the Spa) can only be used towards massages, facials or body treatments, beauty salon services are not included in this promotion (that includes manicure, pedicure, hair) and they are not combinable, you would be able to use one coupon per treatment and since the credit is divided by 3 coupons (2 of $40 USD and 1 $20) you could use up to $40 USD per treatment.

Then I asked her about timing about the manicure/hair/makeup - I'm planning on doing all of it there. They also said they can only take three girls at a time for any beauty treatment.

A bridal hairstyle takes usually and hour and the make up about 40 minutes.

A regular manicure or pedicure takes 30 minutes and the french usually takes 45 minutes.

All of this info is current as of today.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
