I'm so frazzled I just read the list and thought, "what? she's having more than one band, how will that work. Ohhhhh, the WEDDING bands." I really must get more sleep!

yikes! i have nothing done, i swear! even the things i *thought* were done, now are NOT. i.e., dress purchased in nov. still has not arrived, apostille application was rejected because i first need to obtain a certified copy of my birth certificate (apparently *original* BC with raised seal is not good enough!), now not enough OOT bags (have to find new bags and more items), fans & maracas not done because i had to purchase more, bridesmaids' gift jewelry order got screwed up (i was sent something i didn't order at all, and it's a weird company in china, so will probably never get resolved ... time to find new jewelry for them), etc. etc. etc!

Hey Lisa, double check that you need the Apostille for your BC. According to my WC, they just changed the rules in Cancun (I guess, all of Mexico?) a few weeks ago and only require the certified copy of the BC. Of course, we already had ours done but they still require that divorce decrees be apostillized.

I KNOW ! I thought I was on track but... major dramas for me today !!

1. One of my BM does not like her dress. She lives abroad so we had to order without her trying, and apparently the dress make her breast looking even smaller than it is... I feel very bad, because the last thing I want is my girls feeling bad in their dresses ! I'm debatting going to Alfred Angelo and ordering another one for her, I have coupons from last time + they have new models but she said NO and she would not have the time to get it adjusted if needed... Idon't know what to do !

2. Looks like FI has lost weight ! His wedding band is too big now ! He loses it (he tried it on yesterday and if he puts his hand down, it slips... and get out of his finger). I'm debatting - resize it ? order new one ? Crap !

3. I have to pay my WC and the hotel and it's THE month that my salary did not make it to my bank account !!!!!!! I'm only paid once a month, and my salary got paid on March 27th according to my payslip - never made it to the bank ! It was supposed to be THE BIG month (with bonus), instead it's the month with nothing ! I hope my suppliers understand and give me a few days - but it's super embarrassing !!!!

crap crap crap

i was told from the beginning i didn't need it (an answer my TA got from my WC), but i was afraid she might have misunderstood because of the way my TA asked (she just asked if an original BC was ok. of course it is. that doesn't answer whether i still need an apostille, ya know?) ...

so i asked my WC myself if i needed apostille OR original BC.

her answer? "yes, please."

wtf?? it wasn't a yes-or-no question, it was either-or! so i decided yes meant i needed to get it. they already have kept my $25 check for the apostille, and are waiting for me to send another $25 for the certified copy of BC. ugh.

i'd triple-check whether or not i need it, but by the time my WC gets back to me with an answer, i'll already be married, lol.

Lisa...you perfectly described my WC...she never answers my questions directly and is NEVER proactive...ugh so frustrating! The apositle/BC issue is why we choose to not have our ceremony legal in Mexico - i just couldnt get a straight answer and my BC is on hebrew and didnt want to deal with all the translation fees - it was tooo stressful for me! I hope it all gets solved for you!

Ayita - EEK about your paycheck - WTF how does that even happen??! I hope u get ur money soon!

Yes it's really crappy ! i have no clue what happened, my HR is in Geneva and they sleep now (I only realized when I went on my account at 2pm to pay an invoice - it was already 9pm there). Pff. I need to go running tonight ! Or a drink. Or both !

thanks girls for the tips on saving the website

i say get the ring resized. it shouldn't take that long to get done and wouldn't it be cheaper than ordering another one? i'd be worried about him losing it off his finger. DON'T let him wear it in the ocean. i've heard stories of people losing their engagement or wedding rings in the ocean cuz they don't want to take them off and you shrink in water so there goes the ring.

and for your BM's dress...this is going to sound kind of selfish but she's in your wedding party, she's there to support you so i wouldn't overly stress yourself out making sure she loves the dress and wants to never take it off. you have more than enough to do and handle. get her padding so her boobs look bigger.

i was a BM in a wedding last summer and i despised my dress, we're talking hated with every fiber of my being. i was a back up BM after someone else was having family issues and couldn't do the BM duties so i had zero say in the dress, it was already picked by the time i joined the wedding party.

it was the worst color for me, it had boning that caused me pain (i had to duct tape cotton balls to the ends of the boning so it didn't hurt and the other BM who didn't do that had physical bruises), and i ended up paying $250 for the dress and alterations. BUT i was a good BM and knew my role and didn't want to stress out the bride so i wore the dress, didn't complain once, smiled pretty for pictures and burned it after the wedding. and i mean physically burned it...with lighter fluid and a blow torch. it was really fun, you guys should try it sometime. lol

Oh my gosh! I can't believe you burned it with torch. Hysterical! I agree that it's not worth it to stress about the bridesmaid dress. I'm sure there has never, ever been a wedding party where every bridesmaid loved her dress.

As for the ring, see if you can resize it, but are you sure his finger won't get a little chubbier in the near future?

Deep breath, ladies! There's a lot going on today!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
