Hello everyone! I am a June 2009 bride! We are getting married June 20, 2009 in Ocho Rios, Jamaica at the Riu! We are getting really excited! This is what we have done so far...

1. Booked the room and ceremony

2. Sent out STDs

3. Bought my dress

4. Found the MOH dress

5. Ordered my flowers

We are working on DIY invitations and fan programs. I need to get planning for the AHR. We have not even started that project yet. But things for the wedding in Jamaica are going quite well! We have 12 people booked so far. I think many of our other guests are waiting until after the first of the year to book.

I am so excited that there is a June 2009 thread now!!!smile159.gif

That is awesome that there is another person on here from the Dayton area! And we are both going to Ocho Rios to the Riu! Great minds think alike. You are getting married on the day that we leave!

I am not sure yet where we are going to have our AHR. FI family is in Cinci and my family live in Columbus. So we are located right in the middle! I think we have decided to have it in the Dayton area, but are not sure where. The biggest problem that we are having is finding a place that will allow outside catering. A guy that my FI works with on the base runs a catering business on the side and has given us an excellent deal! It seems that the easiest places to go might be VFW halls.

That's the same problem I was having for a while. I wanted to have an AHR but I didn't want to pay the high prices that the hotels and country clubs were charging. If you are going to have it in Dayton, you should check out Arbor Hall. I don't know if you've heard of them but they allow you to bring in your own caterer and its the most decent looking place I've seen for all the places that let you bring in your own caterer. Their rental fee is steep, in my opinion, its 900.00 with a 450 dollar deposit. If you can get past that, you should check them out. The website is Arbor Hall They have a lot of pictures of how the rooms can be set up.

Am I the only one starting to feel the pressure, but still not getting off my ass to fix it? girl_werewolf.gif

I am right there with ya.

I am putting everything off until after the holidays. I just can't concentrate on

both the Wedding and The holidays right now!! LOL Not to mention that I am SOOO busy at work, I don't have timeto breath :-(

So no, your not alone!!

I think we have planty of time. Once January hits though, I will be working my Butt off to get things done!! :-) I am a procrastinater though, so don't be surprised come april/may when I am on here begging for help and "how-To's" on all my DIY projects!! LOL I work better under pressure :-)

I am actually forcing myself to wait until January to do anything else for the wedding. I am taking two grad classes (on top of working full time) and they end on Dec 11th. I have had to tell myself to wait until these classes are done, or I would be failing right now!!

I feel like I am close to where I should be. My friends and family are being so slack in booking their travel that I don't want to do too much DIY, not knowing an approximate number of guests yet!!

We will be okay ladies...still around 7 months to go wink.gif Actually today is my 7 months exactly to go!! WOOHOO!!!

I hear ya ladies!!

I am starting my DIY projects in January, except for my invites. I am doing boarding passes and I am such a perfectionist, I change something on them everyday. And since I have to have ne version in French, one in English, I want to start printing over Xmas, even though I plan on sending them out in February...

My list of stuff to do is growing, but I feel like I have too much time, that is why I am procrastinating on everything else. I have to get the BM dresses soon... :-S

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
