Yes, I know where your coming from. Its the same for me as well. I havent heard ne thing back in over a month. Im not going to panick just yet but our wedding is in 6 months, and if i dont start hearing from then soon im going to start to panic for sure. I still have to wait for my final number of guests before I do anything more anyways. Im sure everything will work out. Maybe there just really busy. How far into the planning have you gotten??

Hi gals!

I'm so excited, they finally confirmed our date; May 21, 2012, anyone else on the same day here?  Can anyone e-mail me the flower selection, and information on where the area for a dance is held?  I tried asking the WC but we all know how that goes... might take months to get a reply :S  Their website doesn't really give you much information, but reading all the great reviews from this site helps me know its all going to be ok.

well, now that my deposit was taken, they asked me to fill out a registration form in which i have to decide everything! the thing is, i haven't got that much info. i got the restaurant menus and flowers choices (the ones included in the packages) but none of them i like so i asked them to send me the ones with extra cost. i also asked for the infos about the private reception because that's what i'll probably choose. even if the price is WAY higher than before as we can read in the past posts.... i'm looking for a 4000$ reception only for the food and the domestic bar. the price is 100$/pp but you have to pay for 40 people minimum(?!) Emma is non negociable on ANYTHING with me. i offered 25$ pp missing to reach the 40 and she refused. we are around 35 so i asked her if i could pay 250$ for the 5 people who will NOT be there instead of 500$ but she refused.

in addition to that is the dj or soundsytem. (around 700-800$) i'm scared to book the dj because i fear he wont play our songs but the dj is the same price as the rental of the soundsystem, so im still thinking about it. i havent got any pictures of the new private restaurant now named  "chill out" (before: thai beach club) or private party on the beach... if you find some, please let me know!!

if you want the documents i have so far, let me know!

p.s. do you know which gazebo is the more private one ....with the long walk before getting there ?? sunset or princess?

Hi Coconut!

I am getting married at The Chill Out Restaurant (formally named Thai Beach Club) and having the private reception too! I was actually told there was a 50 person min for the Thai Beach Club so make sure to get that 40 person min in writing so they don't try to charge you for 50 people later!  As you will find out, things change A LOT at GSP so make sure to save every email they send you and get everything put in the contract that you want as quickly as possible...it honestly SAVED me a couple weeks back when they told me that I could no longer have a Private Welcome Dinner!  Luckily I saved all my emails that my previous Wedding Coordinator sent me and I was able to get her to agree to let us have the Dinner again. sighhhh...

About the DJ, I ended up booking a DJ out of Cancun called DJ Doremixx. I actually found out about them from another bride who recomended them on this site.   They are FANTASTIC to work with and have rave reviews on-line.  Having good music at our wedding is SUPER important to us so I went with them so we could have a good sound system and a professional DJ.  They charge $800.00 for 5 hours and that includes the sound system, a bubble machine, a fog machine, cold fireworks and wireless mics for speeches. The GSP will charge you a $150.00 day pass to let the DJ in, but it is WORTH IT to get a good professional DJ and a Killer Sound System. I also went for the Glow Dance Floor which is only $700.00 through them versus $899 through GSP...so really, I'm saving a couple bucks in the end by going through DJ Doremixx... Let me know if you want more information about them!

I have a ton of information/pictures of the Thai Beach Club so let me know what you need and I'll send it your way! :) I visited there in July just to scout it all out and talk with the Wedding Coordinator (which didn't help at all in the end because our Wedding Coordinator left a month later) so let me know what pics/information you need and I'll send it your way.

ps...The Gazebo you will probably want is the Gazebo on the Sunset Side. It is directly in front of The Thai Beach Club so you and your guests won't have to go far to get to the reception site

Good luck and happy planning! :)

Im glad you mentioned about keeping my emails, because i was told by Elizabeth that I was allowed to use the dinner included in the package as a welcome dinner also. So they are letting you do that??  I sure hope I can get it too.. it just seems like such a great way to start off the trip. Im going to start printing and saving my emails now so im prepared. Have you heard back from anyone at GSP lately.. from what I have seen nobody has. I wonder what is going on over there...

ALso, im very interested in the DJ information that you are talking about. That is one of the  problems that Im having a hard time deciding. I dont have a problem renting just the equiptment and pluging in our Ipod, at least this way we get the music we want, but your DJ plan sounds awesome! Please share where you found them and where I would go abouts finiding them.  Will the play the music that I have gathered together to make our song list. How does the first dance and entrance song work.. Do you just give them your ipod??

Oh nooo.. Thats terrible news about Emma saying no about the Dj Doremixx. I was interested in booking him for our wedding too. You know the answer was no only because the hotel wants to make the money. Thats really annoying. I wanna book him as well. I understand you frusteration, im in the same boat.  And what is that about it costing more in electricity??! So silly..

Well i just email the WC over at GSP the other day and still nothing!! I dont know what to do?  You mentioned that you called Emma?? What number did you call..I think i need to go that route as well.

Our wedding isnt till April but still i have more questions to ask and details to figure out.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
