Dreams Puerto Aventuras Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Oh I'm waiting for a bill when I get there for the emails.....LOL!  Everything has a price for sure.   I will be there in 20 days......OMG....time as flown!  I'm so ready to get this party started!!  Just letting go of all the planning anxiety etc.......trusting in the girls on this forum when they say it will all get done when you get down there!  Took care of what I could from here and the rest I'll deal with when I get down there.....and of course I will have my trusty credit card!!!!  Sounds kinda crazy I know but at this point there really isn't much else you can do about it!!!!!!

So, we just completely changed our minds about our reception (we were going to do snacks and drinks on a sunset cruise), but now we've decided to go ahead with the "Dreams of Love" package and it totally has me stressing now! With our wedding only seven weeks away, I haven't done a whole lot to prepare (many, many things have contributed to that, none of which are particularly my fault). The thing that has me stressing most right now? Table decor! I have no clue what to do since I hadn't even given it a thought since we were going to do the cruise. (We're still going to do the cruise, but it'll be the night before instead. I'm just a little sad about that because for some reason I was really looking forward to wearing my dress on the catamaran. I couldn't tell you why since I'm sure it'd have been a huge pain shleppin' that thing around...maybe because I think it would have made awesome pictures...)

Okay, so here's the hitch as far as table stuff goes...I DO NOT want to worry about packing anything glass!...nor anything bulky since it's gonna be a tight fit anyway carrying our Welcome Gifts and all our other stuff. So, this is my idea (which, I admit, still needs a lot of work). I was thinking about buying some paper lanterns (super easy to pack) to hang with ribbon from the chairs on the aisles for our ceremony. Do you think there's some way I could use those as the centerpieces? Or would that look completely ridiculous? I was thinking I'd get big ones for the aisle, and then some smaller ones to help with the centerpiece idea. I know I could try it out once I buy the lanterns-do a practice run, so to speak- but I don't want to commit to them until I know they can do double-duty for ceremony AND reception. I'm not exactly rolling in dough or space...What do you guys think? Suggestions?

Maybe something kinda like this, but I don't totally love this. I think I'd only want to use shades of our aqua blue color. Plus, flower petals wouldn't be a great choice if we end up having our reception outside. As much as I don't want to pack candles, maybe it wouldn't be too bad since we'll only have a few tables anyway. Oh, speaking of...does anyone know how many people sit at a table? Including us, there will be 24 adults and 5 babies. Round or rectangle tables? That might change things!

You should check out a webpage called SHORECHIC - they have great ideas for your tables.

The tables sit up to 8people. I believe they are rectangular and can be broken down to a smaller size.

Good Luck!

Cool site. Hadn't run across it before. Thanks!

I have that same pic with the lantern's on the chairs...I'm going to to that as well! I love the idea! We do have to put something heavy in the bottom of the lanterns so they dont fly :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
