Iberostar Brides....POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Last night my FI and I were on BDW looking at people pictures...he totally suprised me in that he now wants to do a TTD photo shoot. I am very excited about that! I didn't think he would be into that sorta thing. My delima is we were planning on using the resort photographer...I know they have gotton horrible reviews but, we have a friend whose hobby is photography and we are planning on him taking pictures too. So, I guess my question is who do you suggest for the TTD and where should we plan on doing it? We will be staying at the El Dorado for our honeymoon. Thanks for any input you can give me!

Gabriela just replied to my TA who coordinates everything for us... And Gabriela told my TA they do not rent the equipment and the cost is $200 for a DJ with his equipment...

Let me know what Gabriela tells you to make sure we both get the same answer!!!

Wow! That sounds totally ridiculous! I'm using DJ Bob and he charges $450 for 4 hours. He's American and now lives in PDC. There's a thread on here somewhere and he's got pretty good reviews. I chose him because not only did I want a DJ taking care of the music, but I wanted a MC too. If you want, you can email him at [email protected]

Will you have to pay a $150 fee for him to come on the site like when you bring an outside photographer?

Gail, that sounds like a kindergarten rave party with ballons and glow sticks(LOL)!!! Seriously, I don't know what Gabriela thinks sometimeshuh.gif And the cost is high because the hotel takes there cut as does the DJ... That's ridicoulos though!!! I had my TA reply to Gabriela's emails about are concerns being the same about the DJ. If she replies about the ballons and glowstick DJ i will just laugh and call her retarded myself! Let me know when she does answer ya question what she says (they seem to only answer the questions they want too)...

Stina168, I will soooo have to look into him that sounds great! Thanks for the information!!!

BBtoB, I don't think it works like that at the DEL MAR as far as I know... I definetly know that the prices are way different bewteen the Del mar and lindo/grand/etc. The photoshop penalty fee is $300 at the del mar and guest passes are only $50 per person. As far as I know the wedding package information states the only penalty fee you would be charged is if you went with a different photographer all the rest is at your own discretion and risk (hence you just need to pay for a daypass for them to come to the resort). I know I don't have to pay a penalty for my florist coming to the resort to decorate but I don't know about the daypass thing... I am sure they will try to whack me for that!

Please give us some tips when you get back. I can't wait to hear about your wedding. What made you decide to bring in outside florists? Did you hear they don't do good job? Do you know if they decor cake table...sign in..etc

Thanks for your help.

I have to check out DJ too. Thanks. Did you here does he play good dance music or should we still bring ipod/cd

Hmm, sounds like you girls are having trouble communicating with Gabriela...that's too bad. I think she has a hard time with English to be honest...there were a few instances where I asked my TA's co-worker to call her up and ask her my questions in Spanish to make sure that Gabriela knew what it was that I was asking about. It seemed to help.

Sorry you ladies are having trouble! sad.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
