jen-will you find out what the deal is for the "welcome dinner" I feel like I am getting the run around about it. I want to have it either in the wine cellar or El Patio and I am willing to pay the $750.
Will you take tons of pictures of everything??

Good luck Jen! Write a review and your pics when you get back!!!

The hanging orchids is just like our own Monicabrandon did. You can check out her pics, the link is on page 1

To see people's wedsites, check out the detailed bride list on page 1, some people have put theirs there.

Yeah, the 30-40 people for the wine cellar is a guest I made based on when we ate there. We were 10 and there were several other tables, so I would think 30-40 but it would be best to get the info from the resort.

Honestly Beth it was soooo freaking easy! We got the idea in one of Colin Cowie's books and found the instructions on the DIY thead. Monica did this as well. We did it on a lazy Sunday afternoon (less than 2 hrs!)
You'll need:
Fishing line
Denim strength needle
Fake flowers, popped off their stems and disassembled
Hot glue gun & glue

Measure the line to around 9ft. Cut about 12 strands. This was based on the demensions of the gazebo provided by Stephanie (Sunbride) and Amy's (Amy706) husband's height LOL
Place your first flower at what will be the bottom of the line. Thread the line through the needle. First pierce through the centre of the flower petals, then pierce the plastic backing of the disassembled flower. You are basically REassembling the flower but with the fishing line through it. Dab a wee bit of hot glue where you want to place the flower on the line. Hold for a few seconds to set and TADA!
We spaced the flowers around every 10 inches on the line. So depending on the number of flower strands you want will determine the number of flowers you need. We scored ours at the dollar store. Each stem had around 8 flowers, so we spent less than $12 on this little project!! bunny_4.gif
After you have finished one full strand and it has had time to cool, wrap around an empty wrapping paper tube or paper towel tube. This will make the flowers travel friendly and easy for the DT team to unravel at the resort

Wow Rachel, thanks for the do-it-yourself project! I feel so inspired.

Lately my energy has been put towards buying gifts for my bridesmaids (I have 6 all together). I've decided to make each of them a special OOT bag. To best explain what I'm trying to achieve I should probably mention that I don't have a colour scheme for my wedding. Rather, I was inspired by another destination wedding I attended to encourage my bridesmaids (and Mike's 6 groomsmen) to wear any solid colour they want. So far, 3 bridesmaids have bought their dresses (one a deep purple, one a raspberry pink, one a sapphire blue) and 3 groomsmen have bought their dress shirts (one a pale blue, one a pale green, and one a pale pink). Mike and I will, of course, be dressed in white!

Ok, back to the OOT bags. So far, I've bought each of the girls a different coloured tote bag (Open Top Canvas Tote Bag from Lands' End) and a different coloured cover-up from Victoria's Secret (Victoria's Secret - Deep plunge cover-up tunic). I'm also going to purchase comfy satin sandals for the girls to wear during the reception that match their dress colour (Bridesmaid Flip Flops | Wedding Flip Flops in Bridesmaid Colors: The Dessy Group). I'm hoping to include some fun lip glosses, suntan lotions, and after-sun products. Lastly, if I can afford it, I was thinking of visiting Etsy.com to pick out a unique necklace/bracelet for each of the girls. I really hope they like them. It's been a lot of fun picking out everything. It's going to be very colourful!

Hello... I am new to the Dreams Tulum forum... can I just say how much I love this forum and how helpful you all have been. Seriously some of you should get a paycheck for this, even after your wedding is over you continue to help other brides in needs. THANK YOU for all you advice and information. A little about us...

Name: Angela and Kyle

Wedding date: June 12, 2009 at noon...I was told this was the only time they had.

Location of ceremony: Beach...not sure where quite yet

Reception: Beach or somewhere near the beach...maybe seaside grill

Guests: approx. 20

Package: Ultimate

Video and Photo: most likely playaweddings...they are amazing! I love Pauls work!!!

That's about it for now...

Questions...

1. Can you exchange for anything if you are not using there photo or video?

2. Do you know where the best place to meet for a group of about 20 for a dinner rehearsal/meet and greet?

3. How did a lot of you carry your extra decorations and favors from your homes to the resort?

I think that is it for now...Thank you again!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
