The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Hi Ladies,  I'm also getting married at Dreams Tulum in November of this year! I'm so excited! Was curious how other brides-to-be are planning the rest of the week for their guests? Welcome dinners at the resort? Organized group activities, etc? I'm thinking of a Welcome dinner at the resort one night, not sure how we are going to coordinate for 60+ guests and at least 1 organized trip but don't know where to start. Any tips or advice welcome!  Thank you!
Hue maria, In regards to the welcome dinner question. They do offer them, but I believe they charge extra per head over 20 or 25 people, which can get pricey. Seems silly for an all inclusive but it's what they do. In terms of a group excursion, with that many ppl u could get a good rate on a catamaran or boat to take your guests out. Lots of tours give good group rates. The resort also offers tequila tastings, it's like 16$ pp and have a bunch of diff tequilas to try and tell you the history of tequila and provide appetizers.

Has anyone had any experience with the buffet option with part of the Ultimate Wedding Package? Does it cost more? What options are available? Also, has anyone bought the Ultimate Package but gone with the Silver cocktail hour to save on costs? We are ending up with a much bigger crowd that expected so was wondering if this is something they would consider? Thanks!
We actually chose the silver cocktail options cause they look better than the gold, that's just us though. I think if you have over 50 ppl, you have to get the buffet option, not sure what the menu is like though...

we are having a welcome dinner at the buffet. They will give you the 'back room' and don't charge extra. I think all of the other restaurants require an extra fee for parties over 10.

Hi ladies! Congratulations on your upcoming weddings. We got married last May at Dreams Tulum and we had the Ultimate Wedding Package. We hired Flores Julieta for our flowers and Fotofilia Photography (Karen) for our photos. This was the best decision for vendors than going through the resort. Our vendors paid their own vendors fee into the resort. Also, if you are planning on doing a welcome dinner, I recommend your party arrives at your choice of restaurant and you will be seated together... No need in paying extra. We had our rehearsal at Seaside Grill with 35 guests and it was perfect.

Hi! So we are looking into the private dinner as well. In order to do that you need to pay a private dinner fee which is about $900.00 USD and then you have to choose a menu option ontop of that which starts at about $20.00 per plate.

Hi Ladies,

I am looking for the best bang for my buck for flowers and I need some help....

I have found a couple great florists in the Cancun area that deliver beautiful flowers and centerpieces that are both nicer and a better rate then the resort itself.

You are able to bring the dried, cut flowers across the Canadian border, so keeping the dried flowers as a keepsake is still an option.

However, I have heard a lot about 'real touch' flowers and how many destination brides choose do go this route... has anyone done this? Plan to do it? Seen them? Have pictures?

Thanks ladies :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
