The new Dreams Tulum thread! (Post all DT Qs&As here)

Recommended Posts

It's included in the ultimate package for 20 people.

Wedding cake and sparkling wine for 20 guests
•One hour Gold cocktail party with hors dâ€oeuvres (for up to 20 guests staying at the hotel)

Got to pay for everyone after that. Although glasses of champagne are free at the bar...so I'm hoping I can still figure a way out around this. Just got to befriend the bartender a few days before the wedding and ask if he can make some champagne drinks ready for right after the ceremony.

Hi All,

I just got a response from Aurora regarding the dimensions for the wedding canopy by the Seaside Grill.  This is what she said:

The measures for the canopy are:

Height 2.20 Meters

Width  2.50 meters

Hope this helps some of you.

We are looking for a DJ right now as well. Both DJ Dorremix and DJ Mannia quoted me $900.

I just contacted DJ Bijan...his price definitely is more appealing!! Had anyone heard any good reviews from him?

We definitely need to find a way to keep our costs down. So far we already have 10 more people booked than we budgeted for... and our wedding is still 8 months away!! eeek

Hey veronica!!

I am also really upset that DT won't let me exchange the photography for the videography in the Dreams of Love package. It just doesn't make sense since both services are the same price!

How much is it to extend the private reception?

Also, I just got an email from Landy today and she mentioned that the private reception is now $800.. I just had to laugh! I have e-mails from them saying it is $750 and I'm sure glad I saved them!

I agree that the extra cost for the cocktail hour are ridiculous when you can just have everyone meet up at a bar and casually get drinks and talk before the reception begins.  I have it on my spreadsheet prepared to pay for an extra hour if we absolutely have to just so it's in my budget in case because we hired a DJ and he will be playing until 10:30. Fortunately I'm still budgeting for 50 just in case they all change their minds but doubtful :(.

Thanks!

I will def do the same thing... I just don't want them to turn off the music at 9:30 and tell us we all have to leave. That would be a huge downer on the night!

I wonder if desires nightclub is a good option for after the wedding reception is over?!?

Hi Everyone,

I joined this website pretty close to my wedding so did not do a lot of posting before the wedding but I wanted to say how amazing our wedding was at Dreams Tulum. You have all picked an amazing place to get married!! I just received the slideshow of our wedding from Elizabeth Medina. She did such an amazing job and there are some really good pictures of Dreams so I thought I would share.

Best of luck with the rest of your planning!!

Your reception looked like a lot of fun.. Did you use a DJ? I noticed the lighting was very nice.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
