i don't know how old you are but age definitely is a factor in weight loss. in my mid 20s i dropped 45 lbs. in 3 months ... now in my mid 30s, i'd be *lucky* to lose that much in 6 months. i think part of the reason is due to hormones.

Great job everyone! :)

I agree about age...I am only 29 but I have always fluctuated in weight and these last couple years have been the hardest to drop the lbs! ;(

I have had a bad day today! yesterday was decent and this morning I was down another 1/2 lb but tomorrow I am scared! ;(

Yes, it's got to do with age and hormones, but also it depends on how long you've been working out. If you only started to work out at the beginning of this "contest" then you are building muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. The other thing that might be going on is your calorie intake. If your body is use to 2500 calories per day and you recently cut back to 1200 to 1500 calories per day, your body kinda†goes into shock and thinks that you are starving it so it will store fat. But keep up the cardio, the weight training and a balanced low calorie diet and you will start seeing results on the scale. But to really measure results you should be looking at your cardio endurance your strength and your measurements… who cares if the scale doesnâ€t go down if you can walk a marathon, carry your own groceries in from the car and drop a dress size or two! Keep up the good work, you will start to see results.

WAy to go girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so proud of everyone who is really getting on board with this. I love the weekly updates. I need to kick my butt into gear. I lost 6lbs and then gained 2 lbs, stopped eating breakfast for a few days. I need to go get groceries then I will be back on track.

Best of luck to everyone this week. Wish me luck on melting away 3lbs this week to get back on track. My goal is 2lbs a week now.

Best

How was your weekend girls?

I quit drinking to try and rev up my weight loss so when I went to my future in-laws place this weekend, everyone was asking me if I was pregnant. One thing at a time, we're getting married in 5 months! I'm just trying to look hot in my wedding dress.

Has anyone tryed Body-for-Life? What did you think? My MOH and I are starting today. She called me in tears last night because she's gained 19 lbs. I've been running and really watching what I've been eating for the last three weeks so I asked her to join me. I'm so excited that we are going to be doing this together, we are going to keep each other motivated and hopefully make us even closer friends.smile29.gif

Cheers to another great week girls!

Becksy that is great you and MOH are going to do it together that always helps.

ethrondson that is great everyone is seeing your hard work, I find that once people start saying I am looking better I start to cheat which is where I am at now. I have fallen off the wagon and trying to pull myself back. I ate horrible this weekend and did not workout, I keep saying I am going to the gym today, but I am getting tired just thinking about it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
