I'm getting married at Aventura Spa on November 11th.....do they allow you to bring any of your own decorations?  They are transitioning a few planners and I'm wondering if anyone was allowed to bring stuff and how that process goes....

Also any advise on sports to hold everything?  I would like to use the Terrza pandero for almost everything and the white structure for the dance floor....thoughts?

Any advise is appreciated!

Ladies! Hi!

My wedding is at ACP on October 20th (OMG that is really soon...) and I am in almost-bridezilla mode with my WC. Lots of questions, not a lot of answers. So I turn to you, you lovely brilliant women.

Some questions:

- Does anyone have the email address to book salon services in advance? I'd love to use this, as well as pass it along to guests

- Can you book excursions using your resort credit in advance? If so, I'd love an email address or protocol for this as well.

- Were any of your guests golf nuts? I'd love to get my golf men some information on where to go, tee times, and if they can use resort dollars.

- Cake? They say that the cake in the wedding package is for 30 people only- do any of you have sample size photos you can share? Will they work with your wedding colors?

- Did any of you try to get all of your guests together for an informal (read: not-paid-for) rehearsal dinner? we are using our complimentary private function for the reception (only have 67-69 room nights... grrrrrr) and would love to not pay for a dinner at an all-inclusive (seems redundant to me). How did you go about this? Could you request it in advance?

- Rather than booking a private cocktail function, could we all just crash one of the bars? Is there room? What's the protocol there?

- Did any of you do live-streaming? Do you think we could use the WiFi and do it ourselves?

Yes. Please forgive me. I am in full on, control freak zone.

Any guidance or Xanax you can give will be appreciated.

Thanks!!

Always,

Abby

I would be very interested in hearing any help/advise you get!  My wedding is there on November 11th!  I have some of the same questions you do!  We did visit there in March, so it's nice to have an idea of everything...

But I have the same questions regarding spa appointments, having cocktail "parties" in their bars.....

Have you heard at all what decorations we are allowed to bring ourselves at all?  I'm worried about color matching and can supply some of the things I want, just not sure if I can do that or not....? Have you heard anything on that?

Hi Abby....and JJ

I'm coming up on my 1 yr anniversary in November so any of the info I give you is outdated...especially with all the changes.  Hopefully one of the more recent brides can assist more.  Also try the search function.  That is how I found the info below.

Some questions:

- Does anyone have the email address to book salon services in advance? I'd love to use this, as well as pass it along to guests - Tammy posted this 3/14/12 - Martha Ponce: e-mail [email protected]

- Can you book excursions using your resort credit in advance? If so, I'd love an email address or protocol for this as well. - check out this post about excursions and resort dollars - http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/24314/aventura-spa-palace/2650#post_1755852 - not sure about the contact person

- Were any of your guests golf nuts? I'd love to get my golf men some information on where to go, tee times, and if they can use resort dollars. - see link above for golf info

- Cake? They say that the cake in the wedding package is for 30 people only- do any of you have sample size photos you can share? Will they work with your wedding colors? - we upgraded so I cannot answer about the size - we had a white cake and added bright orange lillies - so beautiful and tropical - they will work with you

- we paid for the welcome dinner but I would suggest providing info to all your guests before leaving or in the OOT bags stating when and were to meet up for a group thing

- Rather than booking a private cocktail function, could we all just crash one of the bars? Is there room? What's the protocol there? - I would do that if I were you - there are plenty of bars to choose from - find your favorite and get the word out to your guests

- Did any of you do live-streaming? Do you think we could use the WiFi and do it ourselves? - no we didn't

Yes. Please forgive me. I am in full on, control freak zone.

Any guidance or Xanax you can give will be appreciated.

Thank you! You are a lifesaver. I will be on top of things with my WC (who I think already is avoiding me like the plague because of my onslaught of questions and requests) and post all that I know for the rest!

Also, another question for you guys-

We got our booking list from our WC, and it looks like we have more room nights than we had originally thought. Now it looks like we have 76, but 2 of those are for 2 night stays. Did anyone ever get them to make an exception and combine smaller night stays together to get to your unlimited private functions? We will buy the 3rd night for our guests if that's what it takes...

Thanks!

I brought my own decorations!  They charged me a $60 setup fee, but they did set them up for me.  The charge may be more now, as I was married June 2011.  Whatever the charge is, I'm sure it is MUCH cheaper than renting from them!!

We have a pretty specific coral color and I would like to bring some lanterns and possible even some table decorations...?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
