Hi @Cj1053 my name is Alison and I am figuring out photographers out for my wedding in October 2015. I wanted to know your opinion on working with Sarani Weddings. Compared to a lot of other approved photographers, Sarani seems to be the best to me but tough on my budget :-( what was your experience like?

I booked directly with Caribe to ensure that I got the promotion they are offering. I got an additional hour free. Hey ladies!!
My ceremony is at Zocalo Gazebo on the beach. To bet to the aisle is there a ramp to walk down or stairs?

Hello,
They are stairs down to the beach.

Hi Alison,
I had a really great experience with them. I went through Sarani but chose her associate photographer as the prices fit our budget more. Even though we went with her associate we did the communication with her and she was VERY fast about responding. No more than 24 hours to respond. Typically within the hour if it was during the week. We did the photography and the video. I won't get my pictures until late September but I think they will turn out great!

My only complaint is that during group photos there wasn't a lot of direction and I felt like I was having to tell ppl where to stand and the group photos were not very creative. I had some friends taking pics at the same time so I was able to see their pics and on my side the bridesmaids are posing and look really cute, but on the guys side they were spread out, one had hands in pocket..one to his side, one w hands in front and it looked really bad. It was our bridal party pic which is a little disappointing, but not end of the world. The pics my husband and I were doing seemed so creative and fun! At one point I looked down and the photographer was laying upside down on the sand to get a creative angle for the pic. They were extremely nice! Because we did a video there were a total of 3 staff members. I would recommend them to any bride!!! Also all our pics will be edited and the resort ones don't always offer all the pics edited.
I know it's a hard decision. I stressed over it as I wanted really good pictures and having a video was important to us. We both feel we made the right decision by going with this photographer. Hope this helps :)

yeah, I also was curious about the cakes... I am doing the BBQ deluxe for my private reception and know it comes with a variety of desserts so I wasn't planning on getting a cake big enough for everyone as well (they are not cheap!!) So I was planning on getting the smallest one there is, but I think the heart shape is corny, is there anyway to alter the way it looks? Also do they let you taste the cakes when you get down there for your consultation with the WC or do you have to chose ahead of time?

We got the cheapest one of two tiers. It also won't be enough for everyone but I've read so many times that by the time you get around to the cake no one eats it because everyone is full. What a waste!  I also would like to know if we can taste them once there just in case we change our minds last minute

Some of the cakes were really good...but agreed that most menus include dessert so a cake isn't 100% required. My FI really wants a cake- and for it to be big and grande. That being said we will go with a 3-4 layer (we will have close to 80 guests). I am however having them slice the cake and my MoH is being tasked with boxing the cake for everyone to take to their room in cute little take away boxes (resort won't do this for you, but allows you to do it yourself). I always like a little sweet treat late at night after a night of drinks and dancing... So it will be something I (and hopefully my guests) will appreciate!

that's actually a nice touch! I mean since we're paying for it I would really like for it to be eaten haha. Our tradition is that the bride and groom save the top tier, freeze it and eat it on their 1st wedding anniversary, but considering that we will be in mexico for a week I don't think that will be possible so I like the idea of people taking a piece to their rooms.

We got the smallest one because our dinner came with a dessert. We didn't get to taste the cake ahead of time. At our meeting with the WC they said we could do round or heart. We said round and it came out heart shaped. It honestly wasn't a big deal bc it was small and just gave us something to cut and do pictures with. We were both very happy that we did it this way. By the time dessert came after dinner, everyone was so full. As far as taste, it was good but had a thick layer of fondant that was a little too much for me. Honestly, we were so full we cut the cake, fed each other a bite, and didn't eat anymore of it.
