so glad they did the reorganization of the department in Miami. They reorganize the office and transferred my wedding coordination to someone else in the "wedding designing" department and I was thinking "oh no this is going to be worse bc everything I had already confirmed with the previous WC will not transfer over correctly" but I'm so glad they did! I end up being transferred to Maribel to take over my wedding and she is awesome! She replies to my email same day or next day unlike the previous WC who would take over a week. One time I called in and she fixed everything with me detail sheet while I was on the phone while the old WC always came up with excuse she was having computer issues. Pretty mych everything is straighten out now and I just have to send them my final guest list and meal preference. thank goodness! anyone else had their nightmare WC issues resolved since the reorganization of the Miami office?

We were assigned a wedding designer from the start so no change there for us, but I have noticed a huge improvement on response time now that they work as a team on files. Now that everyone works together on replying back to emails that come in, I find they get back to me with answers way quicker!

I have my wedding booked on May 3rd 2015, and i had my heart set on Plaza Zavas but its already booked... even through i tried to book it in March 2014  :(

My dad is in a wheel chair and not all the areas are wheel chair accessible, do you guys have any advice on other areas? I really want outside.. we are having a Dj (hopefully, if thats not booked too) and I really want to have paper lanterns and fairy lights strung around.

Im just so sad cause i was set on that area.. they did give the option to change the date but Sunday May 3rd is what we have on the invitation, if it really comes to it, i guess we could change it to the Monday May 4th.

Thanks in advance ladies... you guys are awesome!

There is a garden terrace that is really pretty. I know they use that area as a back up in case of rain for the ceremony but maybe see if that is an option. :)

We were told you could use this location as your set location- not just as a rain back up and I agree it is stunning. Definitely wheel chair accessible too. (Just off main lobby).

If the Miami coordinators don't allow you to book it right off, tell them that the WC at the BDR said it could be booked. It can only be used for ceremony though- not reception... So reception could be at one of the restaurants? Or ballroom/ may be your only options. Unless you move your date by a day where there is room at plaza zavaz..... Depending on the size of your group, we saw a small wedding (20 people ish) have their reception over near the family pool... They strung lights and had a DJ and surprisingly it was possible to have both this reception and one with a DJ at plaza zavaz going on at same time and it couldn't be heard from one to the other. It was definitely a smaller space but the hotel accommodated the group and they looked like they were having fun!

Hi ladies,

Thank you so much for your feedback. I did see the pool deck location but I just wasn't loving it that much. I was looking at the other locations and I quite like "beach building #3".. its on the beach and it looks like there is a rectangular 'hut' with palm trees around it.

But during my hunt for locations I found an option on the lomas website of renting a marquee tent for the beach!! It didn't have a price on it though.. has anyone asked about pricing for this? Im sure its extreme lol. I just think it would be gorgeous on the beach, surrounded by candles and fairy lights.. we would have to rent a dance floor too though or we would just be dancing on sand. The option is on the Lomas website under Furniture.

Thanks, Gem!

How many guests are you expecting? Going onto the beach with the wheelchair, while possible, will likely not be a great option for the comfort of your dad. I would recommend Zocalo, for about 40 people or less. There are piñatas hanging already, it's a great location, and would work for a wheelchair. The Zocalo terrace may work for you, but there is no structure to hang decor from other than Palm trees.

I do agree with the girls, the garden terrace/theatre is a great spot for your ceremony. However, it is only available for the ceremony...not dinner. You should also know the Sky deck does not have an elevator access to the top, so not an option for you. Sorry.

Take a look at the Official thread for photos of the sites, it might help you! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/72018-official-azul-sensatori-thread/

Hi everyone

Do we have to book caribe photos through lomas? or do we have to go through caribe direct, for example by contacting them via their website?

PS. what do you think to the prices of the cakes? Has everyones cake who has got married here been good?

Thanks

Amy

I talked about the cakes I tasted at the bdr earlier in this thread. As for caribe, it can be simply added to your detail page with your offsite WC much like all other details.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
