  1. Hey friends! I suck. I took forever to write my review and it isn't even that awesome or detailed. However, I did post it on to trip advisor so I thought I would forward it over to you all. If you have specific questions, feel free to reach out! We hosted our destination wedding on October 3rd, 2015 at Azul Sensatori Mexico. We had an amazing experience! It seems a lot of similar feedback is posted on other reviews so I will be concise. Employees to mention that went above and beyond in their service to all of the guests from the Vargas-Ramírez wedding would be Fernando at check in, all of the staff at Mojito Lounge, all of the staff at room service during those late nights, all of the restaurant staff who helped us out especially for our rehearsal dinner/wedding reception, Berenice Hernandez & Laura Jimenez at the wedding department, and Imadelia at the salon. To be fair, all of the employees except for two employees (one from Tapaz restaurant and the other person at front desk as we were checking out) were very pleasant and accommodating. The food is fresh, delicious, and is of high quality. The best dining experience was at Zocalo restaurant for its ambiance and cuisine. The most disappointing dining experience was Tapaz mainly due to service. The rooms are extremely spacious and for the most part, very modern. The views were outstanding. The only complaint about the rooms were the sinks. They were very high and that doesn't come across convenient for a short person like me. We were booked in a premium room and the extra amenities are a beautiful touch. The private check in was very nice to experience. The beach isn't the best that I've seen. For majority of the trip, the water did not have so much seaweed as many other posts have stated. However, on our final day at the resort, the water was not clear at all and it felt strange to swim in the ocean. The pools are gorgeous! Absolutely no complaints. If I didn't have so much to do for the wedding, I would have stayed in the pool during the entire trip! The wedding department did an EXCELLENT job executing what I had envisioned for my wedding. The staff was on time and very professional during the entire event. The outside vendors (Mega DJ and the 9 piece mariachi band) were fantastic! We had a lot of pleasant feedback from our guests about the wedding so we are happy the wedding department made that happen. As the bride and groom, we felt that the wedding department helped make the trip worthwhile for our guests. That was so important for us! Thanks again to Berenice, Laura from Azul Weddings. Another thank you to Ingrid and Ximal (I'm pretty sure I spelled that incorrectly) from Lomas Travel. :-) The service at Azul Sensatori was outstanding. I feel comfortable recommending the Karisma resorts to my family and friends. The majority of my wedding group was very happy with their resort stay and I would certainly continue to travel to the Karisma properties! I have now stayed at all Azul resorts and I'm still very impressed each time I travel. Continue the amazing work! Thank you for making our destination wedding the best experience possible! 2. I feel bad for not reviewing yet but j swear it's coming. I booked h2OH yacht cruises for my bridal party and it was one of the highlights for my trip! I truly loved the experience. Katy had recommended it and it was so worth it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Just came home yesterday from my wedding weekend. Will give a full review sometime this week! Congrats @@carrieandsam [emoji173]️ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Hi gals! Does anyone have any recommendations of amounts of tips to leave their wedding coordinator? At the resort and it's amazing! :-) tomorrow is the wedding coordinator meeting. Met Katy and she's awesome! She's so sweet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Definitely; all meet and greets and activities are optional. I just want to see some sort of template or layout. Looking in Pinterest but haven't fallen in love yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Do any previous brides have any recommendations or examples of weekend wedding itineraries they made for their guests? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Thanks @@murmel :-) my ceremony is off site at one of their Catholic Churches so maybe that's why they aren't being as flexible with me as they should considering they have made over $90,000 on my group bookings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. That's a good idea....hmmm okay I'll talk to edwin. Hope all turns out alright. At this point I'm ready to just be married lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. :-( just got off my conference call and they don't know if they will allow for 150 ppl to be at Mojito lounge. Had to cancel trio. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I do and already checked. Since I booked in Jul 2014, the promo I have is for every ten rooms booked, one is free. That was another surprise with Karisma. In the contract it doesn't state the amount of rooms you could receive complimentary and they capped it at 4 when we were under the impression it was 6 rooms. Even though we fought it, Karisma kept saying no. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Follow up from the weekend; Basically; a person price is listed in fine print but every email between the coordinator and I implies the price for cocktail hour is optional depending on what I want so I wrongfully assumed that because we hosted a private reception, we could still have a cocktail hour at the cost of decor and optional food service. Miscommunication on my end but no clarification from the wedding coordinator in which, I figured that's what the the wedding's job is to do. Any feedback from brides who didn't have a traditional cocktail hour and had it at one of their lounges or something like that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Wedding coordinator's job is to do. - have a conference call with her today so we will see what happens. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks @@amyzig2 - my family and I feel that with the amount of people we are bringing and the amount we are spending already that we shouldn't be paying anymore money to them. Personally, I feel any time wedding is added in a sentence, it's another 20-30% marked up. My mom thinks I should just have it at one of their bars. She's kind of like, "let their staff deal with 150 people in one lump and see how they like it." I just don't know how my guests would react. Any brides not have a private cocktail hour and have a great experience? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hey girls, Had my 2nd surprise today after more than a year of wedding planning. I believed that if you didn't want food during your cocktail hour, you wouldn't have to pay extra to host a cocktail hour. I thought the cost of the reception per person rate included cocktail hour alcohol. Was I way off for thinking that way? I understand if I'm dumb for thinking that way but I'm looking at every single email between my coordinator and I and there is never a mention of a mandatory cost per person for cocktail hour. We spoke on the phone today and she told me I needed to select food for my cocktail hour and I was confused. I said, I just thought it would be a bar setup is all. She said it was a $20 per person minimum if I wanted only bar service since I had reserved a private function area. This is out of budget for us as we have 150 guests coming (yeah; I know it's a lot. Didn't expect that many) and, we just can't do it. Any advice? I feel so lost/sad. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Yes! It was announced officially for July! :-) yay for free wifi! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Okay perfect and we can light the candles at the tables and etc..? Edwin is convinced they won't allow it but, I find that weird. Haha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Hi girls, I hope you are having a happy wedding planning weekend! Does anyone know if we are allowed to use floating candles as centerpieces? I'm not sure if there are restrictions with lighting candles. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Do any brides out there have some good recommendations for websites that offer purchasing sunscreen/sanitizer in bulk or wholesale? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Hi girls! I just wanted to recommend https://www.discountmugs.com/product/tot13-advertising-non-woven-tote-bags/if you plan on personalizing your own totes for your welcome bags/OOT bags. I spent about .078 per bag and it was personalized with two colors. Very cute! Happy planning!
  19. Thanks @@murmel ! I'm visiting the wedding coordinator department this Friday so I hope to have some clarity there in Mexico vs. the Miami office. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Awwww these photos are awesome! The beach wedding looks wonderful but edwin and I just truly don't envision a beach wedding especially since edwin doesn't want sand all over his feet during the reception Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. @tiffanyfox do you have any pics you can send? If not, no worries. @@carrieandsam Edwin and I don't like the idea of having it on the beach :-( Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
