Question about the dress code at the restaurants at Azul...we got a letter from our TA saying guys had to be in slacks for dinner. Is this policy pretty strongly enforced? My dad bought a bunch of nice, khaki slack-style shorts, and wants to know if he needs to go buy some slacks. Thanks! :)

Did you get your hair & make-up done at the resort? I am terrible at doing my own make-up. I do not wear make-up except for maybe blush... Did you have to bring your own make-up for them to use? Did you bring a picture of what you want your make-up to look like? I might have to go see someone at the mall to do my make-up and take a picture of myself..

Can't wait to see more pictures from you! Congratulations!!!
Chong
ah thanks chong :)

I didn't get married at AS or AB - I had booked at AS originally but it got too out of our price range and we changed hotels...but I still stayed in on this thread as these girls are amazing and I'd have missed them too much!

my make up I just asked them for nothing too OTT and keep it natural looking....and I loved the result :) I only took pictures for my hair which they recreated no problem.

Nicole - I seriously thought of your during my reception, smiling and was like "Nicole was TOTALLY right"

I'm itching to see my pro pix... I can't wait!
This made me smile :). I KNEW you're were going to have the best day of your life, but that you also had to struggle through the same crazy stress I did. I wish I could have saved you from it. I LOVE your pics. OMG so beautiful. I was sooo paranoid about burning before the wedding. Especially because I'm so fair and burn in like 5 mins of sun exposure. I'm so glad it all worked out for you!! xoxo

LOL! I have been fighting to brain to not say "adios" and "gracias senor!" to my clients on the phone...
I was saying HOLA! to everyone I saw for like the first 2 weeks we were back lol.

I JUST changed my name a few weeks ago. So sad and strange.

We never had any issues. On several nights we had at least one guy in shorts, flip flops and a t-shirt. THey never gave us grief about it.

Oh and by making a photo booth I mean I am getting some fun vintage fabric and having it hand from this 8' tall collapsable event banner thingy. (I have no idea what to call it. I do PR so it was a client's from an event... basically a retractable hook on either end of a self standing poll.) We bought this great polaroid type camera that prints out mini photos that have an aged feel to them. We are going to leave the camera on the table next to the booth with directions on how to operate. We are going to bring a box of props for people to use in their photos. Then we are ordering antique looking placard frames that fit the mini polaroid-type photos.

So not a real photo booth by any means, but a make-shift one...I hope everyone likes it but I know my friends love to take pics of themselves so it should work out.

The thing about hanging the large frame from the gazebo on the sky deck is that there doesn't seem to be a beam that runs horizontally except for the one in the very front or the one in the very back and I think it would look best in the middle. Maybe if I bring heavy duty wire we could hang in the middle by attaching the wire to the beams on the outside of the gazebo. Hmm. Maybe I'll have to give this more thought.
I really love the photo booth you're making!! It sounds like it's going to be awesome and you'll walk away with really great memories :)

Certainly wire would work. The gazebos are really heavy duty. I can't speak personally for the one on the Sky Deck, but wouldn't the minister usually stand in the middle under it? Would you all just step forward a few feet? Hanging the frame is such a neat idea!!

We are also planning to have Signature Drink(s). My WC told me that we can pick our drinks once we arrive to the resort. How did you pick your signature drink? We are thinking mojitos! We love mojitos!!!! What do you mean onsite coordinator setup tastings?

We are really debating on having a DJ vs. playing iPOD ourselves. I am so glad to hear that the DJ worked out for you guys. We might have to look into it little more.

Thanks for all the advices you have posted on the forum. We are also going to be there 4 days before the wedding so I need to be cautious about not getting too much tan or even worse sunburn!

Chong
Thank you!

You can pick them once there, they make 31 different type of mojitos at Mojitos on the resort. I created my recipe at home and emailed it to my coordinator and they created it for me when I got there. They contacted me and asked me to meet them and they made up my drink for me to try and some other options.
