Just curious if any of you have gotten an explanation on how the B&G stay free promo works.  I just emailed Carolina to check.  My TA had said it is based on whichever number of nights is most prominent in your rooms, but the contract makes it seem like whatever is the lowest amount.  Most of our guests are booked at 4 nights with some others at 3, 5, and 7 nights.  So, I'm hoping we get at least the 4 night figure back at the end, not just the 3 since that ones the lowest.  Hmmmm

My TA told me that it's based on the lowest class room that anyone in your group gets.  For me it was 3 nights in a Jacuzzi Jr. So the credit was the price per person times 2 for 3 nights in a Jacuzzi Jr. suite MINUS the taxes and transfers (even though I only had 4 out of 50 people stay for 3 nights in a jacuzzi jr).  I was told that it is issued as a refund, not as a discount towards your room (but I believe another bride said she was able to use hers for a room for her photographer.)

WHATEVER YOU DO MAKE SURE YOU GET IT IN WRITING AND ON YOUR CONTRACT!!!!  I've been going back and forth with dw.com regarding this promotion since I got back from my wedding on August 5th!  When I got home, after going back and forth with my TA for over a month she told me that since it wasn't written into my contract I wasn't eligible for it.  So I ended up going to management and had to send them all the emails between me and my TA and finally last Friday I was told that I would be issued the refund.  I still haven't gotten it yet.  They said I should have it by the end of this week or the beginning  of next week.  So if I don't have it by next Wednesday, I guess I'll be back on the phone.

I'm full of questions!!  What is a typical amount to spend on your Bridesmaids gifts?

I got them all a pair of designer sunglasses.  I ended up getting them all off ebay so they were cheaper than they would've been in the store.  The prices were different for each pair.  $50 (Juicy Couture) $90 (Marc Jacobs), $100 (D&G) and $160 (Christian Dior).  I gave my maid of honor the most expensive pair because I felt like she did the most to help me with the wedding.

I also paid for them to have their make-up done for the wedding.

If they just suggested you get there earlier I wouldn't worry about it.  Just tell her it's not in your budget.  I don't know what the requirements are for a legal ceremony but for a symbolic ceremony you only have to be there two days before the wedding.  We got there on Thursday and our wedding was on Saturday.  If you're doing a legal wedding and they're saying you have to change your arrival because of that you maybe you can change it to a symbolic wedding and get married in the US legally before or after your Mexico wedding.  I've heard some horror stories about the legal process in Mexico so I just went with the symbolic ceremony there and got legally married in Maryland the day before we left for Mexico.

Yeah, I remember your horror story with this, and I'm kind of in the same boat.  Not many rooms booked at the 3 nights, but I'm sure that's the discount I will get, which blows.  You're bringing that much business there, they should at least make their incentives worth while.  Anyways, I'm just going to assume it's the least amount, and I hope yours gets sorted out, and they give you your money!!!

What were the costs associated with the symbolic marriage in Mexico and what you paid in MD?  I'm in MD too, Charles County.  I think you're from Upper Marlboro right.  I got my wedding dress from CM Bridal there.

MY WC has said if I can get a flight to get me there early on Thurs, she will arrange all the meetings on Thurs/Fri so we should be good.  Hopefully it all works out.

I don't think there's a difference in cost for a symbolic vs. legal marriage at the resort but if I would've gotten legally married at the resort we would've had to get there on Tuesday which probably would've cost another $1,000. For the legal ceremony here I paid $25 for the license and $70 for the ceremony.  I got married at the county administration building in Prince George's County (right by the bridal shop.)  I think the costs vary by county but it shouldn't be that much difference in price.  You just have to wait 3 days from the time you get the license until you actually get married (and that may vary by county too).

We got to the resort on Thursday around 2 or 3 and we had our meeting on Friday for the Saturday wedding so you getting there on Thursday for a Monday wedding shouldn't be a problem at all.

BTW I'm not sure if you've booked your flight yet but Airtran has a direct flight from BWI to Cancun and it's usually pretty reasonable.  The majority of my guests took that flight and it was $345.

Danielle, this was in reference to your comment about one of the WC's helping with your IPOD.  Also, did you get the IPOD dock and amplifier are there costs associated with each?  I"m confused based on what i've learned so far.

Oh, and my May Brides, my TA emailed me tonight and said that the resort is filling up (at least for the first week).  Just wanted to give you a heads up if you still have people to book.

    • Hello all!! I'm getting married next week. Every arrangement has been done by my sister for my special day. When I joined in an MNC I was troubled with severe headaches and as per my colleague's instruction, I took an appointment in a nearby eye clinic. And after an eye examination in Toronto, the eye specialist diagnosed hypermetropia in me. And the doctor prescribed eyeglasses for me. The doctor suggested me to wear eyeglasses during the working time. But I used to wear it sometimes not every day. Then I was troubled with severe eye strain and headache and mom was scolding me to wear eyeglasses every day. I thought of saying goodbye to eyeglasses forever. I'm planning for a Lasik eye surgery soon before my marriage. I don't know whether I'm eligible for Lasik eye surgery. I'm tensed about its recovery time and its complications. Can someone help me by sharing your views?
    • In the 2017 bridal fashion week, many styles of wedding dresses were gradually popular. From serious bling to regal capes and fun and flirty short numbers, ByCouturier've got all the hottest wedding dress trends you need to know. Allover Sparkle
Over-the-top sequins, tonal beading and metallic embellishments turned the Bridal Fashion Week runways into a glittery affair. Perfect for evening nuptials under the stars, this trend is daring but sophisticated. Pro tip: If you're rocking a gown with lots of sparkle, keep your accessories minimal and let your glitzy frock do all the talking.  Bold Ball Gowns
If you're looking to make a dramatic entrance, a classic ball gown is for you—and we saw plenty of them. Take a cue from long, lace sleeves, or get glam with an embellished strapless bodice. No matter the details, this voluminous style is sure to turn heads.  Captivating Capes
Not into veils? A full-length bridal cape or shorter capelet is the perfect alternative: It still adds movement to your gown, but feels fashion forward. Plus, this trend is an easy way to pull off a mid-wedding outfit change. Wear a cape or capelet for a more formal look during your ceremony, then whisk it away to hit the dance floor at your reception. Short, Sassy Dresses
Whether you show off your legs (and a killer pair of heels) in an embellished mini or opt for a more conservative midi-length number, a wedding dress with a flirty hemline is a chic way to mix it up. Not willing to give up your dream ball gown? Change into a shorter frock to spice up your reception or after-party.  Plunging Necklines
The deep V-neckline is a must-try for two reasons: It flatters your upper body (even if you're busty!) and elongates your frame. A plunging V with scalloped lace is ultra-feminine, while a sleek V plays up the inherently sexy vibe of a curve-skimming silhouette. Just make sure you have fashion tape handy the day of to avoid any wardrobe malfunctions.
      Skinny Straps
We love this trend for two reasons: A gown with barely there straps has all of the sex appeal of a strapless neckline, plus added support. We call that a bridal fashion win.
    • Hello all,
I am here to get some suggestions on the best places to go on a honeymoon. I am getting married by the end of next month.
I was thinking of Bali or Maldives. But just wanted to know other beautiful and romantic places. The wedding banquet hall is a gift from our parents. The hall they have booked for us is one of the best banquet halls in Vaughan I’ve ever seen... Other arrangements like the videographer, photographer, wedding dress, reception dress are all finalized. The next week we have the pre-wedding shoot. Also, I'll start sending the invitations the same week. So, it is going to be hectic and I don't have time to rest or look for some nice places. So, if anyone here could suggest some places would be a great help.
      Let me know your suggestions.
      Thanks in advance!
