The boxes are from Fetpak Wholesale Jewelry Displays, Gift Bags, Tissue Paper, Pouches, Packaging Supplies at Fetpak. item # 75WBI, measuring 7 x 5 1/2 x 1.

For any Canadian girls wanting to make boxed invitations, though, make sure you read this thread about Canadian post regulations.

The OOT bags were bought from cheaptotes Promotional tote bags custom sizes and styles from cheap totes for $1.29 each. I also bought the transfer paper from them for the iron on. It was very easy to do (once you get the hang of it) and they provided instructions. Remeber to invert the image and I found you really had to apply the iron with a some force and for the length of time they suggested... any less and the image wouldn't properly come out. Did Alex love the BD book? I remember the pics you had done in TO - they were absolutely stunning!

I can't wait to see pics of the wedding and hear your review. Congrats again!!!

Thanks so much! Yes, Alex LOVED the BD book! He said it was the best present heâ€s ever been given… lol… I managed to keep it a secret from him until the day of the wedding. He was thrilled with it!

The flowers are real and were provided by the resort.

Do you mind me asking, where in Mexico did you buy the maracas and how much were they?? I'm leaving for a site/planning visit near Playa del Carmen in two days and would love to be able to pick them up if they're in my budget!!

Youâ€ll find these maracas everywhere. When youâ€re on your site visit youâ€ll probably want to check out 5th ave in Playa (the main shopping street) and youâ€ll see them in a ton of stores. I found the best prices and selection was in the bigger tourist stores on 5th – one is at the very end of 5th closer to Playacar area (very, very end when you canâ€t walk any further b/c this store is in the center). The other one (where I bought them from) is about half way up the fairly long walking street (right hand side of the street if youâ€re standing at the end I just explained and about to walk to the other end).

These bigger stores have three sizes of maracas (I bought the medium sized) and they were just over a dollar each. They have deals if you buy a certain amount. I think we bought about 30 maracas for $35.

Enjoy your site visit. Youâ€ll love Playa del Carmen… I want to go back!!!

This was a really time consuming project, but I loved the end result! I also plan on cutting down the sticks and putting them in some sort of shadow box perhaps with some sand at the bottom as a keepsake from our wedding.

I used Angelaâ€s advice on the cake topper project (thanks, Angela!).

http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t8698

As with Angela, I would highly recommend Tamiâ€s Place for the crystals. I also used the same site as Angela did for ordering the monograms and they were also great. Youâ€ll find your own system, but I used the glue from Tamiâ€s Place and used the end of a pin to pick up a tiny bit of glue and transfer it to the crystal… I was pretty picky about not having any glue show around the edges and this allowed me to only transfer a small amount of glue (plus if any glue showed I would use the needle to scrape it off).

Did you bling your own cake knife and server too?! They look so good together!

Thank you. Yes, I blinged the cake knife and server as well. I bought them from a kitchen chain store (Benix) for $7.99… compared to the monograms they took no time at all, and I thought they pulled it all together nicely cheesy.gif

I was wondering where you got the ceremony fans...I'm looking for some for my wedding. Looking forward to your review...

Rhonda

I got my ceremony fans from Oriental Trading Company. On the advice of girls on the forum, though, I ordered more than I needed as the sizes vary quite a bit and some just arenâ€t as nice as others. I would definitely recommend ordering a few more than you need.

Thanks so much! I only had 5 ½ months to plan, which wasn’t nearly long enough once I found this site and all the great ideas! Thanks for the pictures of your cake boxes…I loved how you did them and fashioned mine after yours (I also fashioned my menus (not posted) after yours!).

By the way, thanks for your post with the hanging orchids. I also bought mine from Walmart and was really happy with how it turned out!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
