Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

I placed the slideshow of my professional pictures on my review thread http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t41146

But I totally forgot to place it here. Anyway, Here's the link to the professional slideshow of my wedding at the Moon Palace (April 11, 2009) by Del Sol in case you have not seen it.

drtracy, Congratulations! Welcome Back!! and GREAT photos! Can't wait to see you review and ask tons of questions.

Nina, Congrats to you on getting your coordinator changed. Kelen has been emailing me all morning and even called me this morning. I also already got an email from the spa services on our wedding spa treatments, mani, pedi, makeup, and hair.

Thanks! My review is getting so long! I keep thinking of things to add. I think I'll just have to suck it up, run through it one more time and post it. I was hoping to get my TTD pics back before I did so I can review this photog but that might just have to go separately.

I'd highly recommend trying to get Doris in the Nizuc beauty salon for your hair. Mine looks EXACTLY like the picture I showed her, the same with one of my BMs that had her. When I told her how much I liked it she just smiled and said, "you picked the picture." Totally made me laugh. Then my friend commented on how much her hair looked like the picture she picked and Doris just laughed and said, "I make it like the picture" over and over again. So funny.

But, if you are interested in seeing some pics you can check out the link in my siggy. I think the photographer did a great job (and he wasn't David Pena).
A couple of notes ~ Nancy Ruiz is no longer at MP, I didn't find this out until I got there. I had a brand new person named Margharita Jiminez.
The bugambilia was a great gazebo, but it is windy. It keeps everyone cool but my hair is in my eyes in quite a few pics, I definitely recommend pulling any long bangs back.
I had my hair and makeup done at the resort. I think they did a great job, my BMs also had their hair styled and everyone was really happy with the results.
I highly recommend getting married at a gazebo that isn't right next to your room or getting ready somewhere else. The horse and carriage picked me up pretty much right next to the gazebo so a lot of people saw me getting on it, fortunately DH's back was turned.
I have pics of most of the gazebos if anyone wants to see something specific I can try to accommodate. (Obviously, Bug is the one in my wedding pics.)
Now that I'm back, let me know how I can help!
What section did you stay at? We are getting married in that gazebo too and are supposed to stay in the Nizuk section.

We were also on the Nizuc side in the section called Bugambilia. If you look on the MP map there's a couple of sections that are closer to the pool. I think the horse can pick you up near there which may work better. I mean for me the horse picked me up literally right next to the gazebo. Easy access for me but weird that everyone was milling around and could see me and my dad take off. I'd definitely ask when you get there for specifics on where your room is in relation to the gazebo and where the horse picks you up.

I bet you probably can! I would imagine they would understand if you wanted to get on the carriage in secret!! I'm beginning to wonder if I want to do the carriage...knowing my luck, I'd freakin' fall out of it!!

Has anyone had any experience with the cocktail menus? I was wondering how easily they let you swap items out. We really like the Mexican menu, but my fiance REALLY wants to the ribs in the international menu...lol.

You can, just be very specific and maybe call an hour or so before to confirm it. I just didn't think about it (whoops) or I would have.

I also ran into this same issue where they picked me up literally right next to the gazebo, sort of ruining the entrance/surprise of it all.

Lily, my WC, went over the location of the pick up which was suppose to be outside my room but that plan was foiled in one way or another. So you can definately recommend where you would like to be picked up if you don't like the original pick-up location.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
