congratulations! getting the date confirmed was the hardest part, i swear! you might want to add your date to this thread:

http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t24950

copy the most recent list and add your names, BDW screen name, and wedding date ... looks like you'll be seeing other BDW brides while you're there!

Hello Dolphin !!!

Welcome - I'm excited to hear that you set your date at Dreams Cancun! My name is Tina and I'll be getting married June 12th. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions - I've found this website to be very helpful.

So have you decided where you are having your ceremony and reception - Clue us in to what you have planned so far - I can't wait to hear all about it and get to know you better!

Warmly,

Tina

Hi Tina,

I am doing the wedding in the Gazebo and planned the reception on the terrace. I just sent Claudia the first questionaire. I was wondering at what point do they ask for the deposit to hold the date cause we are not up to that yet....and that makes me very nervous. I am using Claudia, the reviews about Gaby made me very nervous.

I booked the time for 6:00 for the wedding, but I am a little concerned cause the last review I read the bride stated she wished she did it earlier to have pictures in the daylight. I wanted the later time to try to get pictures with the sunset, but I am not sure if that is a mistake. Someone asked about the time difference that hers was in November and ours will be in June..I am going to have to look into this a little further.

I just got back from Dreams in October and really fell in love with it.....If you have any questions about the hotel I can probably help with that.

Hey Tabitha,

I hear it is different for everyone - they are very flexible with the deposit. If they told you that they reserved your date for you then you should be fine, but I would initiate making the deposit just so you know it is definitely set. I sent my deposit via credit card back in July.

Everything works out the way it is supposed to - are you using Juan, the photographer at the resort? I am and I'm sure you can get the pictures that you want. You are getting married where there is beautiful scenery and even if a non-professional picture is taken, it will look great!

I'm getting married at the gazebo as well - we are expecting about 20-25 people. I am having the cocktail hour on the terrace and the reception on the beach. I just got my dress last weekend and it was a very emotional experience for me - I'm getting so excited! We went to dreams last July and loved it - we saw a wedding there and fell in love with the venue.

Can't wait to hear more about your experience!

Tina and Lucy - I'm considering the same - 20-25 people in the gazebo, cocktail hour on the terrace, dinner on the beach. But - eek - I don't know where to start or how crazy expensive I'm talking! I received some info from Gaby - so I know what the packages are, but I'm not sure of the little upgrades (looking at the Ultimate Wedding Package). Can you guys give me an idea of your budgets/upgrades (if you feel comfortable - I understand if you don't!) Thanks!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
