We are looking for a family friendly environment and a resort that is fair priced. We hope to balance both these things with a dream wedding day. Thanks in advance for any info as I scour this forum.

Welcome to this site and congratulations on your upcoming wedding and the planning.

We get married on 20 June this year having holidayed at the Bahia Principe chain of hotels for the last 18 years  all over the world and hwe ave stayed at the Mayan Riveria Hotel  twice before. It is beautiful and the staff cannot do enough for you.

These are the links with the 3 different locations, if you click on each of them then click on the photos in turn you are given a 360 degree view of each point - pretty good

http://www.bahia-principe.com/en/hotels/riviera-maya/resort-tulum/map - Tulum Gazebo wedding location is on the furthest right of this picture

http://www.bahia-principe.com/en/hotels/riviera-maya/resort-akumal/map - Akumal wedding location is roughly on the large beach area in front of the swimming pool that is on the left side of this picture. Coba is the area in the background - it is central and doesnt have it's own beach area.

These are a a few great thread/links on this site

"Post Your Wedding Date" http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/9132/post-your-wedding-date/630

If you go onto the thread/link, ensure you go to the bottom of the thread then copy and paste it then enter your wedding date and the name of the hotel / location. That way all other brides can see who is getting married dates close to them . It is handy too as some brides have then shared cost of flying photographers down rather than using Arrecife the onsite photographers or local ones (you then have to pay a visitors day pass)

People have not been including this at the top of it, if you add your details in add this too please and thanks - makes it easier to everyone to know how it works.

Please make sure to go to the last post of this thread, "quote" the last entry and add your wedding date in chronological order.

I think this will be the plan for the songs;

Groomsmen (2 or 3) then Groom and his parents. These groups will share a song.

Bridesmaids (3)

ME!

Recessional

We are not sure if we want music to play when the guests are arriving/ being seated.  I think it might be good to start the music and have the groomsmen start coming and this will tell guests that the ceremony is starting and to sit down!

I know I want to walk down to Canon in D.  We like the Israel K..... version of somewhere over the rainbow, and the

'feather song' by  Alan Silvestri (kinda girly, so prob for the BMs).

Canon D is the most beautiful tune ever, it was my dear grans favourite piece of music and I always associate it with her.  Sadly she is no longer with us but hearing it always makes me smile, and brings back happy memories even though shedding a tear .

Just listened to the Israel K version as never hear it before - amazing, it gave me goosebumps.

Everyone loves Forest Gump x

On the legal requirements I heard that if you DID NOT change your name (which I didn't) legally with your first marriage it is likely that you can be considered a single and won't need apostile or translation. I don't think men have to as they (obviously) don't change their name.

Our location is the beach location which is what we wanted - we are going to pick frutos del mar and since we are probably only having about 20 ppl or under I guess we can select 2 items for each course which is good. The issue is that my parents, in-laws and fiance don't like seafood but I LOVE it and so do most of the others.

Good Luck, Miriam

Awe thats brilliant,  Im like you feel at ease and if a weight is off my shoulders,   we are still torn between the restaurants - my sister is a vegetarian and doesnt eat fish so she is the spanner in our plans.

Good luck with everything

I was told by our W/C that I would need to bring by birth certificate and have it translated and legalized because my father and I did not share the same last name. Something to keep in mind if this applies to any of you ladies.

Thank you for that additional information, much appreciated.   WOW it will soon be your 1st wedding anniversary x

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
