Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Yeah, the photographers from Photos in Cancun are actually personal friends of my bridesmaid and we wanted to use their services. They were originally from Toronto, Canada, and we would've invited them to the wedding anyways to come attend and spend some time with my bridesmaid. Now I'm not sure what to do.

If they were planning on staying at the resort as a guest, then I would contact the hotel customer service... NOT the photographers.  Contact the resort directly.  Explain that you want to get married there and that guests to your wedding are photographers and it is ridiculous to not be able to use their services.  But only do that if they are staying at the resort.  If they are only coming for a day pass, then that is a different story and you'll likely not get anywhere.

I am guessing the photographers are trying to scare you and this is not actually a resort rule.

I was going to suggest contacting the resort directly.  Let us know what steps you take and how it goes, they really seem more agressive these days!

I also have a question, at the reception in a restaurant, how do they set up the tables?  Do we have a say?  I think we're going to be 30 guests.  I'm trying to think of ideas for decorating the tables and knowing the set up would help me a bit I think.  Thanks! :)

I will probably do that and contact the resort. I was just anxious because that's what the resort was telling me, which I thought was weird since so many brides here have used outside photographers. I would be booking them to stay as guests (whether or not they can stay the whole 3 or 5 nights, that's fine) I would've booked whatever nights it requires to have them as the photographer instead. Thanks for the suggestions ladies. I will let you guys know how this goes.

Katryn, I think they have some ability to move tables.  Which restaurant will your reception be in?

Promise, the setting is amazing and everyone is so happy and excited for you that the table decorations don't even matter too much.  Nobody will notice that it's missing.

FutureMrsWarner... good luck!  Let us know what they say.  That's pretty ridiculous that they'd pull that move.

Oh I know it's very pretty, just a little white!  I don't want to do too much or anything, just add a little touch.  I was fortunate enough to get Le Gourmet.  Don't ask me how.. I'm not quite sure how I managed that one!  FI and I were talking about it last night and I think we'd like to have a U shape.. wonder if they do that?!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
