Got everything we wanted. Second time I went was in May and I e-mailed my reservations in advance (because I had it all planned out - haha) and got everything we wanted. You dont have to but you need to be on the ball when you arrive to get the restaurant you want as well as the time you want.

I wanted the gazebo coz it so gorgeous and read the the beach can be a bit windy ! Was told I couldn't have it as it was booked ! I made it clear I was not happy so they managed to get me in but at a couple of hours early then my wedding was going to be but feel it is worth it. What are you doing for the evening reception ? I have booked the private poolside party but have not yet had this confirmed. X Hi Danielle I have literally just received an email from Paloma saying I can get Tulum Gazabo as the othre bride has changed to Akumal - phew big sign of relief from us I didnt want the beach as although the location is away from the sunloungers, massage area and where you go swimmign in the sea you still get people coming along to see the weddings take place - not always a pretty sight. So from a privacy point of view I didnt want to get married there also the wind can be a bit mad there. At the Gazabo there is plenty privacy and a gorgeous area to go to on the beach for photos too. REgarding your documents provided your name on your passport and birth cert match they shuldnt need translated - see my post further up. All the best with your planning, had you added you name and details to the "Post your Wedding Date" link - its cool and good to see other brides that could be there the same time as you Kirstin x
claruickie
Ladies new to this thread these are a few great thread/links "Post Your Wedding Date" http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/9132/post-your-wedding-date/630 If you go onto the thread/link, ensure you go to the bottom of the thread then copy and paste it then enter your wedding date and the name of the hotel / location. That way all other brides can see who is getting married dates close to them . It is handy too as some brides have then shared cost of flying photographers down rather than using Arrecife the onsite photographers or local ones (you then have to pay a visitors day pass) People have not been including this at the top of it, if you add your details in add this too please and thanks - makes it easier to everyone to know how it works. Please make sure to go to the last post of this thread, "quote" the last entry and add your wedding date in chronological order. futuremrswarner
I have a feeling this is a dummy question, but if I'm staying at the Tulum, am I allowed to make reservations at the restaurants in Coba and Akumal? Or am I stuck with the options at Tulum? Only reason I ask, I'm staying at the resort for 2 weeks (2nd week for our honeymoon), so I would prefer if I had more options. claruickie
You can book at any a la carte restaurant do it sooner rather than later so you get the time and date you want. We love the Japanese and Brazilian - don't eat much that day so you enjoy the meal & experience
Mtrowsse
We have been offered 4pm as a ceremony time. Do you guys think this is too late? I want to be able to get some pictures after the ceremony. Thanks for any help!
futuremrswarner
Mine is booked for 4pm as well. I think Trisha has mentioned that it will all depend on the photographers themselves. Some will work fast enough to catch some great shots, while some may take a little longer. The sun sets around 5-5:30ish in November when we get married. My photographers have convinced me to do a first look photo session before the ceremony to get some photos of the bride and groom, and the bridal party. I know it's "bad luck" or non-traditional to do that, but I feel like the destination wedding is non-traditional enough on its own... that way, I know I won't have to rush for good photos with good lighting after the ceremony if it gets too dark..
