Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I just returned from my wedding (full review will be posted soon) but I used the resort DJ and he was fine. He doesn't talk or anything, but played super fun music, took requests and even found and downloaded a song he didn't have (at least I don't think he had it). We used our ipod to play the songs we wanted for our special dances (1st, father-daughter, mother-son) and that was fine as well. It was super easy to not have another thing to deal with since it was all covered by our wedding coordination since it was all in the resort. Less things to coordinate is always good in my opinion :)

Hope that helps.

Would anyone who had the pool side reception be able to provide reviews for the resort DJ?

I'm wondering if I should hire DJ Bob or DJ Bijian if they are available :)  Thank you!

Hi guys, i know this question has probably been asked a hundred times, but I couldnt find an answer just browsing through. I want to have a white aisle runner for the Akumal hammocks location and I am wondering if they have something like that down there, or if i should bring it? How much fabric would I need if I were to bring it? Thank so much! We leave in less than a month!!

Unfortunately there are no outside photographers allowed...having said that - many of us brides are bringing our own. They're a 'guest' at the wedding and paying to stay

at the resort so they can't do anything.
I found it was much more worth the money to bring my own down.

What $500 are you talking about? This is news to me

Are we able not to use them at all? Our wedding is the remember package. If a guest is staying there and so happens to have a camera are they classified as a
Photographer and do we have to pay the $500. Thanks ladies.

Not going to lie - having a runner will make it very difficult for you to walk down the aisle. Ive read from may brides on here that its very frustrating. Some even end up stumbling because the material doesn't remain flat/taut for you. You'd be better off just using sand..and asking them to 'board' it (not rake) the day of. It packs the sand down so you're not kicking it up too much.
Just my 2 cents - but as far as the runner goes...i know they have red ones - not sure about white tho

The $500 is if you bring a local photographer in to photograph your wedding... that is, if they even allow it.

For the white runner at the hammock location... that's tricky.  A runner in the sand doesn't really work very well.  But, if you really want one, you'll have to bring your own.

And StylishmeNC... you looked beautiful!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
