We plan to do the legal thing before we go to the DR for the "big show" and I didn't really want it to be anything big or special. I don't want it to take away from the day in the fancy dress with everyone there.

Because FI's family is here, he wants them there for the legal cermony. I don't think his sister will be coming down to the Dominican b/c she can't afford it, but his parents will be there at the resort. None of my family will be there for the legal ceremony, only the symbolic one. I think my family would be a bit upset if his family was there and they couldn't be.

SO my question is... Who did you have at your legal ceremony? confused.gif

I'm planning on doing the same. I think I'm gonna have my sister there at the legal ceremony then meet everyone out for dinner (just something small) We may even get tattoos afterwards! friday.gif

We are probably just going to have our MOH and BM, but we still have to decide where we are going to do it. We want to do it the day before we leave, so it would be a 2 hr drive for my MOH just to turn around and go back to leave, or do it in the city when we get the the day before leaving, and the BM can make sure to be there by a certain time.

A funny little note *my MOH really wants to be there, as I will be getting our marriage certificate through her and she will sign it then, and then she wants to sign it as the witness too! She is so funny, although her first signature on it won't appear on it after the wedding, as the person performing the ceremony gets that part. Still, we will know that she got to sign it twice. LOL

It was such a great time though. I totally recommended it. Find a drive thru chapel and have fun!
That is soooo awesome! If we weren't so strapped for cash for our 'real deal' in Tulum I would totally do this! So jealous! And your cab driver as a witness?! How classic is that?! Lucky you! smile159.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
