Hey chicas,

Yeah, I'm excited about my friend shower theme too. I thought it was different. My sister is very creative that way.

So, excited about the bachelorette for this Sat. though. It's supposed to be nice out, not raining.

Greg and I have decided to get married here in MI first too. If we were going to the Dominican I don't think it's as bad. But we have to get all the blood tests and this and that and then all the hassle of paperwork. I'm going to try to keep it secret but I'm not sure people will really even care. Most thought it was a good idea the few I told.

We are going to write our own vows. I think I'll be okay. Shawn may be short and sweet. He's not big on mushy words. I swear - it took him like 5 minutes to ask me to marry him!! I had to prod it out of him! LOL

Our legal day is October 31st. We were trying to do it as close to the wedding as possible and Friday the 31st just fit in...plus - we both LOVE Day of the Dead stuff, so it kind of fits us. It will be short Justice of the Peace thing. I am not even going to wear my band - it'll be my e-ring. I think he is going to use his band for the process and when we leave just take it back off.

Steph - we have 101 days!

We're going to write our own vows. My FI is a total mush ball. He also used to be in a bad (drummer) and would write lyrics so it means a lot to him to have our wedding be personal. Now, I am not a mush ball so I don't know what the heck I am going to write! I did suggest we write them together so they kind of go together rather than having it be a surprise at the altar.

So I got my dress for our legal day this fri. I can't believe that it is already less than a week away. I don't have my camera with me since I am staying in the city for the weekend, so I will just post pics Fri night or Sat. I found it really quickly actually and I can wear it in the Dominican too!

Amy - how was your party? Erica - let's see that dress!

Who else's legal day is on 8/8? Is your's Steph? Erica's is is there anyone else?

How was your weekends?

Well - FI talked me out of spending $80 on having our ty tags copied at Kinikos - he said people would throw them away anyway, so just use the regular one I have at home. If the ink smears - oh well. We also cleared the air between us. I have been SO Bi**chy with him for two weeks. I have just felt overwhelmed and it was nice to get it off my chest. We sat for an hour last night and talked through a lot of the issues. I am so happy now!

So that was my only bridezilla moment for the weekend. OH - and my son got into the little activity kits I was putting together for the little boys during our reception. It was actually a blessing in disguise. They were "Cars" stamp sets with paper and stickers I bought at the dollar store. He got ink ALL OVER his hands and face. Both of his hands are blue! After I found his mess - I asked myself- What are you thinking? Giving little boys blue ink pads to stamp with?? I could just imagine my son running up to me at the reception with blue hands all over my ivory dress! I decided to pre-stamp some papers and give them crayons and stickers instead!

We have our "assembly party" this weekend so I have lots to get prepared for and lots to do on Saturday. OH - yeah, FI and I also started our weightloss crackdown today! Chicken, veggies, fruit and water, water, water! We are also going to choose one day to cheat. 97 days and counting!

Haha, me and my fi are also doing the weightloss crackdown today. I've been on a diet basically for months now but have been cheating here and there (especially on the weekends) so today is the day we get real serious. I'm using Steph's name of "Operation Hottie" that begins today for me.

glad you and your fi cleared the air Celina.

Erica, Can't wait to see your legal day dress. Are you nervous or excited about Friday?

How was everyone's weekend? Mine was okay. I think we finally picked a first dance song. We were butting heads over a song and i finally found one that we both agree on. It's Yellow by Coldplay. I also started to look into songs to walk down the aisle and songs to walk out to after the ceremony the processional (think that's what it's called). I really want to walk down the isle to Bitter Sweet Symphony by the Verve, but just the beginning before the singing starts. I'm not sure if it's going to be long enough. Does anyone know if you can loop it? It was weird, i just brought up to fi that i wanted to guitar trio which he didn't really like that idea so then i was like okay we have to figure out a song i can walk down the aisle to and that song came on.

This Saturday i'm going to bridal store to see the bm dresses, they finally came in so both my bms are going to go try them on and make sure everything is okay with them. I'll bring my camera and maybe make my sister let me take a pic of it so i can post it.

I'm hoping to start the Welcome Packets this week or weekend. I started to gather some info for them.

Isn't it weird that you would butt heads over music? FI's mom called and said that she found a song - it's basically guitar playing by Santana. I think it's kind of dumb, but whatever. Is anyone doing a pre-fitting or pre-look at the BM dresses before the wedding?

I want one and my MOH thinks I am dumb for wanting it.

Danielle - I did a brochure from Vista Print for my welcome Packet - they came out good and were cheap! Let me know if you need the e-mail for the free stuff. I have a few saved JIC.

BTW - "Operation Hottie" ROCKS!!

Celina, I am glad you were able to "clear the air" that must feel wonderful.

Danielle, you have a lot of fun stuff coming up, seeing your BM dresses, welcome packets. That is great to have gotten your first dance song.

Erica, yeah for legal day!!! What are your plans for the day?

Celina, our legal day is tomorrow!! Woohoo!! Very excited!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
