Newly engaged!

Kaki

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

My name is Kaki and my guy proposed to me in the middle of our kitchen 2 and a half weeks ago. It was SHOCKING (you can read about the whole thing here:The Crayfish Diaries: Rude News & Ill Thinking ) and I cried for a full 10 minutes (I obviously don't handle shock well). We've been together for a little over 2 years since meeting in Japan on a teaching ESL programme. I'm from Montreal, he's from Scotland and we live in the middle of England now. We figure we wouldn't make one family happy over another, so we're looking at getting married in Mexico next summer. I'm excited, apprehensive and thinking way too much. I love this forum and hope to get as much information from all of you to make a decision sooner rather than later.

Hi and Welcome !!!

My Name is Elisa and I too am a " Newbie " . Funny enough we seem to have a few things in common .

My Fiancee and I got engaged in December and quickly realised that with my immediate family ( Mom, Pa , sister, granmother etc. ) living in Germany , as well as a huge chunk of my friends , and HIS family scattered everywhere from Florida to New York, Calagary and then right here in Toronto , that a Destination wedding would be our best choice . We choose Mexico as well !

We are getting married October 9th 2008 at The Riu Palace Mexico , we'll spend just over a week with all our friends and family and then 10 days honeymooning at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya next door .

So you and I have the European AND the Mexican connection ! Welcome and Congrats !! welcome1.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
