i think i have so much to do still because of my at home wedding.

for my cabo wedding, all i have to do still is make the boarding pass invites, and find a photographer. the rest is super easy thanks to a secluded beach and A/I hotel! no worries! at least i can pretend all my stress is gone cause i'm almost done with that! ha!
Thanks.. but i still have my ARH too.. it is the week after we get back.. i am making it a mexican fiesta so like simple cheap stuf.. and I have my food done (fav. mexican joint), DJ done, cash bar done, Margraetta Machine (not done), Dessert (not done) Favors..I wanted to do mini tequila bottole but i might get mexican candy and put them in little bags!

so i may be somewhat done.. i just don't feel like worrying about it any more! lol smile123.gifpinkie.gif

i've been slacking with my july ceremony lately...

here's what i still have to do:

-i gave jose the task of confirming the rooftop terrace for our ceremony location, which i know he has not yet done fryingpan.gif

-figure out the food sitch... since jose is mad at me that i didnt like what he wanted his friend to make, he now wants to be dumb and take 10 people out to dinner with him paying for it, 4 weeks before our wedding in cabo which i know he really cant afford to do because of the fact that the honeymoon is his financial responsibility and he has not yet paid for our hotel stay for that. i'm thinking the smart thing to do might just be to get it catered in if his friend is indeed not going to cook anything as originally planned. jose has it in his head that its not only rude to tell his friend that i didnt like what he was planning on making (hello, im not eating something i dont like on my wedding day!), but even more rude to ask him to make something else instead. whatever. not touching that with a 10 ft pole. i told him to figure it out fast and cheaply.

-need a small cake for 10 people... im thinking white cake with keylime flavored ribbon through the middle and white buttercream frosting. i have to contact the bakery i want for a quote and a tasting.

-need my dress altered slightly

-need to sell my original civil ceremony dress

-uh, need to def print the civil ceremony invites and mail those by next week since my august wedding invites are going in the mail tomorrow! so that means i need to stop at papersource and get envelopes for the civil ceremony invites that will fit the thai silk pockets fryingpan.gif

i know there is more, i just dont know what haha

ohh thought of something. we DID get the list of all the possible wordings for our ceremony this past weekend from our friend who is officiating, so i have to go through the 100 page PDF and narrow it down to about 5 that i like or want to mix & match, and then have jose help me pick the final choice.

oh and jose needs to buy my wedding band. he is mad at me that i want to wear it haha so he told me i have to take it off and give it back at the end of the night and that he is going to hide it and i wont see it again until cabo!

sooo i am OFFICIALLY getting married on the 4th of july this year! we called the township today to confirm and because we live in a smallish town they don't have anyone who does it in the town hall. so they gave us the name of a judge who will do it (and works solely off donations to a medical research org that her daughter needs). so now all we need to do is pick a place! which is fun because we thought we were just going to be in some weird little room...

we live really close to a marina that has a gazebo which overlooks the water and the boats. it's about a block from our house so we think that would be nice. :)

so.. cross one thing off and add another!

So cool!!!
Maura, did you post your civil dress here to sell?

Finally I decided to start working on some stuff...
1. Shower is May 17 (I ordered stuff for a candy buffet)
2. I printed out stickers that Sarah made for me to put on the candy bags
3. I am having a Bachelorette party on the 31st in Tokyo
4. I did my BD photos. Hopefully I have them back by the end of next week. I decided to change book companies after reading some threads on here.
5. My dress should be done being altered by next week
6. Our trips are all paid off!
Need to do:
1. Order wedding bands
2. Buy dress/outfit for shower
3. Book a room in Auckland for one night before we pick up our RV.
4. Work on a route for our HM. We only have 5 days in New Zealand.
5. Start packing - figure out how I am going take everything with me and then to NZ for our HM....which by the way will be winter! Yea, i got to pack for winter too! lol
6. Contact my WC in Fiji. I havent sent her one email. Im not really worried.
7. Send out a newsletter to our guest by June 1
8. Send out our pre-Fiji package to our guest on June 21
9. Get all of this done except 6 and 4 before I start getting ready to leave for the UK June 22 for a month... I will still keep you all posted while in England.. I think BDW will still be my fav site!

yay katrina thats so exciting that youre getting married july 4th! i will be thinking of you!

i havent posted my old civil ceremony dress on here yet that im not keeping and need to sell to make the money back, but i really should. i have been in kind of a funk this week so maybe ill do it tomorrow.

well, since jose did not contact the building manager who would need to give us permission to use the rooftop terrace, guess who did it? yep, thats right, me. turns out they arent sure the renovations to the rooftop terrace will be done by then. doh.gif they are aiming for mid to late june but he told me to check back with him in 2 weeks and he will probably have a better idea of a date so we can determine whether or not we can use it. this annoys me though because now i cant finish putting my civil ceremony invitations together and send them off to our parents and officiant and stuff until the first week of june, and you all know how i like to get shit done like yesterday! oh well. thats what i get for delegating to jose what i want done right when im asking for him to do it.

I forgot to add, I went to get my first fitting yesterday. They charged me $320 for alterations! I was pissed. This does not include alterations for the length, they wanted to charge me $150 for that length alone! They made me pay up front. Is that wrong? Also, they said it would be ready June 20th? Don't I need more than one fitting?

amy my alterations were almost as much as my dress, about $250. and we paid up front, and then i had the fitting where they pinned it up, then the fitting where i tried it on to make sure it was right, and took it home that day. but june 20th sounds like a long time! what if they need to fix something else??

Oh good, I thouht I was a fool to pay up front. They kept stressing that the dress will be ready before then. But they also made it seem as thought thats all the time they needed. He did put pins everywhere. He is changing the to from a straight strapless and adding a dip (kind of like a sweet heart) and (gasp!) letting it out some. It zips but is pretty snug. She is also fixing the front too, its to big. Any how, I'm just nervous b/c I thought you needed several fittings!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
