I have been told at least 10 different times that I look like my FI's daughter. How embarrassing, but even more so for the person when we tell them otherwise. Most people think that I am between 15 and 18. Every time I get told this is when I have my hair pulled back and sometimes not. I want my hair up for the wedding, so how do I make myself look older? I know many of you are probably wishing you could make yourself look younger, but honestly I don't want to look 12 on my wedding day. Any suggestions?

My first thought is to enhance your eyelashes (maybe do extensions or fake ones) and darker eye makeup.

Maybe make-up of some sort like Yari suggested? Or perhaps a certain haircut will help age you? That's really vague but it's all I can think of. I bet you'll appreciate your youthful apperance in 20 years! LOL

I have to agree with the suggestion of using make-up, are you planning on doing a trial run with hair and m/up beforehand?

I get that alot too! One time the Jahovah Witness came to my house, and FI answered and they said, "Is your daughter home?" lol You should have seen his face!!! Also, one time I was at a Parent Teacher Conference (as the teacher) and my student's parent just started laughing... and he said, "Ummm please dont take this the wrong way, but how old are you? I am worried that my sons teacher is in highschool" ( I was actually pissed off)

I think extra mascara/eyelashes and makeup will do the trick for your wedding. Maybe if some of your hair is up. Believe me no one will mistake you for his child bride! You are going to be beautiful!

Do you have curly hair? I do too so to look older I have to straighten it or else I look really young.

I used to get that a lot, too. The day will come when you miss hearing it... but I digress.

One of the things that used to really make a difference is that when I pulled my hair back, I had some height in the hair over my forehead. I actually used to back-comb the front crown before I pulled it back. The high school cheerleader pony tail thing is less intense that way.

                Hope that helps a bit!

Different make-up and hair can make a HUGE difference.

Go to your nearest MAC counter and tell them your trouble -- and let them work some magic (they are great about showing you how to do it so that you can do it yourself).

And depending on how attached you are to your current hairstyle -- a change can make a big difference.

I look at pics of me from about 10 years ago and I look older then than I do now -- all b/c of the haircut I had. So -- I bet a new style could help add to your sophistication.

Although -- I guarantee on your wedding day you will look like a beautiful goddess that no one thinks is a young'un!

I've had people ask me in business meetings if I'm an intern. It's great to see their face when I start to run the meeting! I can feel your pain though...

For me, I makes a big difference how tightly I pull my hair back. The softer the look, the more I look like my actual age. I think soft and sophisticated is the way to go for your hair. Try a test run at home if you're nervous.

Make-up will also make a big difference. Regardless, you'll look beautiful on your big day!

I'll gladly donate some of my wrinkles to you! lol

Like the other girls said, a change in makeup should do the trick! Plus your wedding guests know you aren't that young.
