Post your wedding Dress!!

JPMO- Here's my dress! Not what I thought I'd end up with but it was great once I put it on. The train and bottom portion is removable so it becomes a short strapless dress for dancing.

I also found a cake with fondant tiers that resemble the dress!

Just picked it this weekend.

We're going with navy - some of the girls wanted a slimming effect and, quite frankly, it looked great on everyone.

We're either going to have the guys wear khaki linen pants and navy shirts or navy pants and white shirts. Not sure what to do about the flower girl yet, though!

OK ladies, here is what I think is my dress. I have been looking at every dress under the sun online & finally went to try some on yesterday. As much as I loved the pics of this dress I was prepared for it to look awful on me. Well, it looked fricking AWESOME!!! I love it so much. I do not love the pricetag, but I'm prepared to get over that.

The color is actuallly warmer than it looks in the pic - its called "natural" and it looks awesome w/my skin tone.

What do you guys think? Is this too much for a beach wedding? I kind of think I should wear whatever the heck I want to, as long as I feel super special. Right??

i think you should wear whatever you want as long as you are going to feel beautiful...and to feel beautiful you also have to be somehwat comfortable.

the dress is absolutely gorgeous....how heavy is it? that would be my only concern...if you are under the sun for too long and the dress is too heavy you will get HOT!

Thanks :) You know, it really isn't that heavy...and it's made of silk, so the breathability factor should be high. Also, the heat won't be as intense in Feb/March. Go ahead, throw anything at me, I can rationalize it!

So, here's another dilema...the dress is approx $2200 and takes 4-6 months to be made, which is fine. However, I have found the exact dress, in my size for way less - $1400 on preownedweddingdresses.com. I've been corresponding with the seller (obviously I'm apprehensive) and she owns a bridal boutique in Arizona. She ordered several Alfred Sung dresses for her shop, and when she received them she decided they did not fit with the "feel" of her shop. So this dress has never been worn, is not altered, is not a sample. I am really tempted to take advantage of this & save $800, but I would just die if something bad happened.

Thoughts?

is there anyway to see them? are you very far away? any friends near the area that could take a peek and make sure the dress is new...it is a big savings on the dress!

also, silk and the time of the year will be fine....i always worry when people have big, heavy, satin skirts with 4 layers of netting and satin...

Unfortunately I'm in Monterey, CA & this dress in in Scottsdale, AZ. The only people I know anywhere near there are my fiances teenage sons...so I don't think their qualified :)

I think I may end up paying the full retail for my own peace of mind.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy! I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them? Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
