Thanks Nat, got the link to her pics. I think Deyanira is for sure my WC, however I will be sure to document EVERYTHING, and request my ceremony and reception site now because if I had to switch my date and location because of the WC I would be PISSEEDDD. Additionaly I feel like thay should have been reimbursed or compensated in some way for messing up someones wedding day like that. I will have my MOH or another family memeber stay on top of the WC to make sure everything is how I want it too.

Oh yeh and speaking of the dinner package, the 2010 menu that Deyanira sent all of us for 2010 is now not right , because this menu states that gold pakage dinner is 650.00 including tax and gratuity and any additional persons was $32.50 WTF, how did it go to $800 and $40.00 additional per person =. I just now realized that after I looked at teh menu document she sent again. I attached it. I'm getting ready to email her again and ask wtf is the real price if I chose the free package urgghhh why do they keep changing this crap, don't they know money doesn't grow on trees geeezzz

Toya I thought the EXACT same thing... and there is even a little note at the bottom of the "wedding extras" page that says "prices valid for 2010" and it shows $490... I have no idea whats going on!

I am seriously looking into La Barcaza... at least whatever the price is you sign a contract for that price and they can't change it on you 6548645168484 times! What is the price of the gold dinner going to be by the time you and I get married? I don't even want to know!

And because of the price hikes, B and I are back to a symbolic ceremony for good... we got our legal date this morning, JUNE 18TH 2010 (hahaha Toya!) at 12:30pm. B even said we should just go in our sweatpants... haha ok I'm all about comfort but a girls gotta look good ya know?!?! haha

hahaha June 18th is a GRREEAAAAATTTTTT Day hahahaha our legal day is June 12th we are going to dress casually cute and then go to dinner with our grandparents afterwards.

Its just crazy how can you change the new 2010 price twice ... who does that seriously and its really misleading to any bride doing internet reserach on DPC, they will be shocked when they get the real price. This is probably why they don't have you sign a real contract so they can change onyou whenever its best for them.

yeah exactly... I feel really ripped off about Dreams right now... I mean I know I will be happy once I get there because the place is fantastic, but I picked it partially because it was more cost effective that other resorts' wedding packages! Oh well, something is working against me (us all) on this, is it a sign that we aren't supposed to do it or something? ? ? hahahaha

Are your grandparents witnessing your wedding? We don't know who we are asking to be our witnesses yet, since our legal ceremony thing is top secret to our guests! Are you guys exchanging rings at your legal? We aren't, since for us it isn't our "real" wedding (even though it is...? haha)

nat, i am all for the sweatpants thing! we're doing ours on april 1st (also J's bday) just to remind us to not take everything too seriously. if J's daughter gets to come to the wedding (we are taking her mom to court for it.. awesome) then it will just be J's sister and bro-in-law with us.. otherwise J's daughter will be an "honorary" flower girl that day.

i am hoping that this is all just a big ole miscommunication with the dinner prices. i gasped when i saw the $800 for the gold dinner! it seems like a lot of the things we've worried about were just not communicated properly or weren't made clear in the price listing they put up on the site. (like the "no dancing") i'll be really curious to hear if anyone gets a response about the actual price.

nat, did you say that the girl from tripadvisor got married on the beach? could you forward me her album? thanks!

Nat,
That's what Gerry and I are doing.. our date to get married here is Jan 15 at 3:00 and we're not exchanging rings either or getting too dressed up.. may go for dinner but only because we won't have any food in our house cuz we're leaving the next day.
My thinking is if we leave it casual, than there is less guilt about the not telling anyone!shots.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
