Jocy, no I'm not Jewish! :) They use a very similar setup at Majestic, so I think it doesn't matter what your religion is... its gorgeous!!

jmcaulay- most of us from what I gather are doing a private reception, which takes place (usually) on a terrace of a restaurant, the beach or a ballroom. What is a deciding factor is how many people you have, since they accommodate anywhere from 40 people, to 100 people, to unlimited. If your wedding party is going to be 20 people or more, it is probably a good idea to have a private reception! You can have it just like a reception at home, with music and dancing; or you can do what I am doing, is having the dinner, some drinks and then hitting the disco for the dancing until the wee hours of the morning! :)

yeah I'm not jewish either, its just the name. but its reaaally pretty! Much better then the arch picture they send you first!! Do any of you beach brides know if you can pick where on the beach to get married? Bcus I've seen a photo where just the beach is the backround, and one where they have a palm tree in the backround.

I can't make up my mind on what time to get married! She orignally said 6:15, the sunsets around 6 615 in october there....so it would probably be too dark for pictures?! right? She said 4pm is also available. But I know getting married in the sunset would be beeeaauutiful!

Congrats on picking your location! That was the toughest part for me too! But i know ive made a good decision ;-) I believe all the "wedding menus" are the same for each location unless you don't pick a private reception. The menu options have been posted a few pages back incase you haven't seen it yet. Happy planning!!

cogswellgray, there are actually a ton of us getting married on the beach... but you could probably tell that by this point!

i'm not jewish either but i'm doing the huppah.. it seems to have really become a beachy wedding thing too and not just a religious thing.

also, i checked with deyanira the other day about the set-up and she said for the beach you can have things set up pretty much however you like as long as you let them know what you want.

4 is a great time for a beach wedding i've been told. that way the sun will start to set while you're taking pictures and those dusk colors are the absolute best!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
