    I would love to meet up with other destination brides even though I mostly read and don't post on here LOL! I am open for August and Toronto. I live in Caledon but can easily get down there.

    I have sent her a few referrals. She actually hand delivered to my work a beautiful basket to me for referring a few brides to her. When we get back, I plan on sending her a flower arrangement or an edible arrangement. She really has gone above and beyond for us. Our guests have nothing but great things to say about her.

    We are not doing invitations either. We sent out STD's and all of guests confirmed and put their deposit down, so we think its silly to know send out an invitation which invites our guests even though they have already paid their deposit. So instead, when we receive our flight details (Wedding isn't until May 2016) we will be sending out a "newsletter" with the flight info / other important info. We will also be including our personalized luggage tags for everyone. Most will be hand delivered so we don't have to worry about postage.

    I think a plain white cake with ribbon will be the way to go. I already have my cake topper. I think when they put colour they go a little nuts and that's what makes it look blah!

    Wow! Everything looks great! It seems that you pay so much attention to detail. I am the same way! LOL! The napkins that you have, what did you wrap them with? Is that construction paper or tissue paper? I think I want to do something similar but not for our OOT bags but for the ceremony. I want it to say "if you shed a tear or two, here's a tissue just for you, so wipe away that happy tear, we are thankful that you are here".

    I think I am overthinking this whole cake thing....I guess us brides tend to do that. Although, I still think its a great idea, it may in fact be a hassle getting through the airport. Every bride that has gotten married at our resort, says the same thing about the cake. Its awful looking and even though you send them photos, it always turns out nothing like it. I have a specific vision I want for the cake and I will truly be disappointed if I end up with a very ugly one. After all, it will be in my wedding pictures for the rest of my life.

    I don't like the cake options that they have given us, that's why I was thinking of bringing a fake cake. I too don't plan on stopping the party for cake cutting however, I do want the traditional pictures with the cake.

    Hello ladies, has anyone ever brought or thinking of bringing a "fake cake" to take pictures with? I really don't like the look of the cake that our resort offers so I thought of bringing a fake cake with us? Suggestions? Thoughts?

    Picking your resort is honestly the hardest part. I am getting married in Jamaica, however I will be attending a destination wedding this November in Punta Cana.

    We are also getting married at the Royalton. When are you looking to book? I can recommend our travel agent to anyone interested. She is amazing! She has gone above and beyond for my Fiance and I. She is actually from Jamaica and specializes in Jamaica weddings.

    My heart aches for all you ladies. I am glad I still have my mom with me but I lost my dad 4 years ago very very suddenly. No chance to say goodbye to him and I miss him dearly. Think about him every single day. As soon as I got engaged my amazing bestfriend bought me a locket with my dads picture in it so that I can attached it to my wedding bouquet. She engraved with a little saying that my father and I use to say to eachother. I will also have a memorial candle and his picture on our cake table. My mom will walk me down the aisle and I plan on having a mother/daughter dance but to the song that I danced with my father at my baptism. I plan on having an empty chair next to my mom and will walk down the aisle with a single white rose and place it on the chair.

    @@IzzyDeee, I messaged him on facebook and he told me his fee is $760USD for 4 hours and it doesn't not include the vendor fee. Is that what your paying? I don't even know how to post a picture on this site. Do you?

    Your getting married on my birthday Wow! Everything looks so great! I cant wait to hear all about. I will definitely be messaging the DJ that you hired and inquiring about his prices. LADIES.....I went dress shopping on the weekend and I said yes to the dress.. So in love with it.

    We are getting married at the Royalton White Sands. It was suppose to be a small intimate wedding, but has now turned into 50+ guests. How about you? You must be super excited! Did you use your hotel for everything or did you use outside vendors? What are your wedding colours?

    I hope so! We booked in 2014, but decided to wait till 2016 to give our guests plenty of time. We are also getting married in Jamaica

    Thanks, I am a part of that group and I have noticed that some of them are. We are actually taking our photographer with us which is still cheaper than using an outside photographer. I hope the dollar improves a little.

    We have budgeted 20k for our wedding. We are paying for our flight and accommodations as well as my FI parents, my mom and our photographer. We are receiving 4 frees since we have 60+guests. My FI and I are also staying for two weeks. Our guests are only staying for 1 week. We have 11kg each extra luggage. A lot of things that I have noticed with our hotel at least, is everything is over priced. You can get a much better deal buying things here and taking them with you.
