  1. So according to our contract with Air Transat, we were to be refunded the cost of one trip (less fees and surcharges) for every 15 adults travelling for 7 days as part of our wedding group. We have 33 adults booked, so will be getting the base cost of 2 trips returned to us. According to our contract, the base price of our trip was $1,089 plus fees of $386 ($1,475 in total). When I check our trip online right now, it also shows a similar base price (fluctuating daily) with a constant $386 in fees and surcharges broken out. Air Transat has told me that they will be refunding me $1,510 for two trips instead of the $2,178 I believe I am owed ($1,089 x 2), and my TA has said that the difference is just additional fees and surcharges (i.e. we get back $755 per trip, meaning only half the cost of the trip is for flight and accommodations). Has anyone run into this issue with Air Transat? I thought by Ontario and/or Canadian law they had to disclose all fees separately from the base price, but I can't seem to find that regulation when I google it. I've asked my TA to request an itemized breakdown of the cost of the trip to prove their math, but apparently Air Transat isn't willing to do that. Can any of the Canadian TA's chime in on the rules for breaking out additional fees from the base price? @@TAPreety @TADarci Hoping someone here can help me get my additional $668 owed to me....

  3. OMG, you're getting so close! Your welcome packages look great, especially the waterproof cases. I'm sure your guests will really appreciate those. I had been meaning to order something like that and it completely fell off my radar. What vendor did you use? In terms of makeup, I based my decision on the review from @calgarybride2015 (and the fact that I haven't seen any recent negative reviews on the resort makeup team). I decided I'll get mine done at the spa and am paying for my bridesmaids to have their makeup done as part of their gift. I think the fact that you have done your own makeup trials at home is a bonus - you can bring them the pictures of yourself done up the way you like and let them re-create it. I think it's totally ok to bring some of your own items that are tried and tested and then ask them to use those instead (especially the eyelashes). Of course I'm sure you'll look great whatever you decide to do, so don't let it stress you out
  4. Like @snswedding2016 mentioned, maybe we can do a March and an April date? I'll be missing the April 8th meetup due to my wedding, but can do the first 3 Fridays in March. Would hate to go several months without seeing my favourite brides / brides-to-be!
  5. I'll be in Mexico prepping for my wedding on the 8th. We're there the 6th to the 18th Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. So we got our groomsmen pants in from Cubavera today and Jesse tried them on. After shooting down my suggestion of wearing the Navy linen suit, he actually loves the look and feel of the pants and now wants me to order him his own [emoji24] Boys! If only he had listened to me in the first place, he would have his suit in hand already and just need it tailored! Anyways, since you're still on the hunt for clothes, just thought I would share the positive feedback on this option. Here are some pictures - please ignore the pile of wedding crap on the floor, lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. @@vancouverpetunia I love all of those dresses so much! They fit you perfectly and are so flattering - I would never guess that you don't wear them all the time. I really think you can't go wrong with any of those choices, but my fave is probably #3 - mainly because I love that dress and would probably wear that myself if I owned it. Speaking of which - brand? lol I'm getting married two days after you and need to get my butt in gear with this legal marriage stuff. Need to figure out the where and when before it's too late and I'm packing for Mexico. Time is flying by!
  8. Your shower looks like it was lots of fun. How nice of people to bring you presents even when you asked them not too! Can I ask where you got your shower dress? I love it! Your ceremony shoes are perfect. Can definitely be used again and will be easy to walk in the sand with. Great deal on the watches!Definitely a great present that everyone can use. We still need to decide on presents for our groomsmen and watches are definitely on the short list. Our welcome bag contents sound like they're great. Looking forward to seeing how they all turn out! 9. @@vancouverpetunia Have to do something so we don't look ridiculous in our pictures! At least a mound of sand is less conspicuous than a platform / box of some kind to stand on Plus, anything to reduce the neck strain of standing close and looking up at that angle is ideal. Half of our engagement pictures are pretty much just pictures of my neck/throat, lol
  10. I didn't realize wooden planks were an option! It really does look great. My FI is an entire foot taller than me, so I am determined to have extra height shoes on at all times. I have 3.5" heels for the reception (and for photos) and bought wedges just for the ceremony. I'm trying to be optimistic that I can actually walk in the wedges in the sand, but I've come to terms with the fact that I might have to go barefoot if it seems like I might fall in them. In that case, I'll probably resort to building a mound of sand to stand on during the ceremony so we don't look weird in pictures, lol. I'm sure if you end up without shoes for the ceremony that you'll be fine walking in your dress - not a big deal if you have to use a free hand to pull the hem up a bit while walking. Can't believe you're leaving in two weeks! Looking forward to hearing how awesome your wedding day and week with guests turned out [emoji7] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Love your review and seeing all your pictures, seems like it was the perfect day. Props to you for not freaking out on Sean's step-mom - you handled that like a pro! I'm so in love with your vows I keep wanting us to write our own, but I know I will be crying through both of our vows if they are anything but generic (and may even cry at the generic vows, lol). Maybe I'll try to do write vow-like notes to each other that we can look back on privately
  12. Agreed! Had a great night. Was nice to finally meet you Ashley! And Ann - I made it home safely [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  17. I love the sounds of a BDW trip! Our only hitch is that we are planning our honeymoon for the month of December 2016. Don't imagine I can swing a week off work so soon after taking a month off. But not ruling anything out at this point and if I can make it happen I'll be there! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. @ That's a great tip on the face powder! @ashhtayy My other suggestion in terms of sweating is regarding antiperspirant. My FI also sweats like crazy (has to wear an undershirt under his dress shirts for work every day or else he ruins them quickly) and he now swears by Mitchum Clinincal 24hr: http://www.amazon.com/Mitchum-Clinical-Anti-Perspirant-Deodorant-Unscented/dp/B00JCG89P6 It goes on sale at Shoppers and Walmart periodically for about $6 and is worth its weight in gold. I use the women's version too as you basically do not sweat at all when wearing it so it makes your clothes last so much longer - less washing and dry cleaning! Just make sure it's the "Clinical 24hr" version that comes in a box. The other idea I had for you was regarding the men's clothing. We are going with navy for the men as well and plan on ordering linen clothes from here: http://www.cubavera.com/suit-pant/100%25-linen-suit-pant/CBE11002RT.html?dwvar_CBE11002RT_color=408&cgid=cuhpantsandshorts&srule=best-matches&start=4 They have a matching jacket and vest as well in the same colour. It's a bit of a muted navy so may not fit with your vision, but the price is right even with the US exchange rate so thought I'd share.
  19. I've been facebook stalking too and I must say that you and your hubby both looked stunning on your wedding day [emoji7] Glad to hear that everything was amazing and can't wait to hear more details in 2 weeks. Enjoy your honeymoon! Fingers crossed for lots of sun [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. @@acw271011 Your video is so beautiful! Loved your vows I'm so jealous of all you brides that are paying for professional videography. I am picking my battles with my FI, which right now means - yes, you need to tell your groomsmen what to wear and they can't just dress in whatever they happened to bring with them to Mexico... I'm thinking I might need to find out which one of my guests has a GoPro and have them take an amateur video, because watching your wedding highlights really cements how precious it is to have those moments on film
  21. I can be there by 5:30, and it looks like Ann can be too. I think a table for 8 should be fine, since that will be : @@deecol @@krystalball @ @@acw271011 @@Meandhim @@ashhtayy @snswedding2016 @@diadiamond If Rebecca is able to come then we can always increase the reservation to 9 people or just squeeze in an extra chair
  22. I messaged her on Etsy about a week ago to tell her the date but haven't heard back. Maybe she still gets notifications from BDW? I just sent her a PM. @@Meandhim - you're still coming, right?
  23. I have a metropass and live right downtown so I'm happy anywhere as long as they have food and alcohol, lol Joe Badali's sounds excellent
  24. So the Yorkville Cibo location is super close to the Bay subway station (like a 2 min walk) so as long as you are fine to take the subway it would be an extra 15-20 min or so from union. My other thought was Loose Moose which is close to Union. I'll try to think of a few more options in case the consensus is not Yorkville for those taking the GO train. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. @@deecol Way to take charge! My office is a 5 min walk from Yorkville so I can definitely get there to hold the reservation by 5:45 (assuming everyone is still on board for Cibo). Looking forward to catching up with all our newlyweds and brides-to-be!
