Few questions: 1) We are all staying at the Sunrise, any recommendations for ceremony and reception locations (prefer terrace for reception) 2) Did you have to pay the outside vendor fee for the photographer and assistant plus the day passes, or just the day passes for the both of them? 3) Did you have to pay a vendor fee to use Maya Floral or does dropping off the flowers at the front desk get around the vendor fee? 4) Why does Moon Palace place a hold on credit cards? I can't answer your question about ease of final payment but I've read a few posts that Moon Palace will honour your contract. If it says unlimited private events after reading 75+ room nights on your contract, that should be honoured! I'd fight it if they're now just giving you free room nights.

Hi everyone, I've posted this on the newbie forum but thought it would be more appropriate to post it here as well. We've decided to have our January 2016 wedding at Moon Palace and I'm so excited (16 months to go). I know it's high season during this month but we would love to get away to a hot destination to celebrate our wedding. We've been quoted around $2300 for flight (taxes incl), transfers and 7-night stay. Is this average or is his too high? Should I wait around January 2015 for price quotes, will they be better? Any advice would be appreciated

Quotes we've received are for direct flights from Sunwing and Air Transat. Air Canada and Westjet don't give quotes until at least a year before departure. I am working with a travel agent and I trust her, I just wanted to get other opinions on the cost. My coworker is actually attending a wedding at Moon Palace this October and she paid $1700. And that's during hurricane season! So I guess Moon Palace is just a pricier resort.

Thanks for the quick reply @@calgarybride2015! I thought it was a bit steep. I checked pricing on Expedia and pricing for January 2015 is around $2100. We haven't decided on specific dates since we're hoping we can get quoted the cheapest price in January since we're not too picky. I'll take your advice and keep looking on here for 2016 brides.
