  1. Hi ladies, I am just curious how the room upgrades work. I am working with a BDW travel agent, if that makes a difference. So my question is, when you hit the room count for the upgrade does your travel agent automatically reserve that level for you and work out how many comp nights you have? That will save me an extreme piece of mind. Or is nothing done until final payments? Does your travel agent handle the upgrades before you arrive or is that done at check in. If this is done at check in, I will probably be in bridezilla mode.

    Thanks

  2. I plan on going with BiCoastal images. She is very active on Facebook and they have really good reviews from real brides. I also looked into Octavio Montes, his prices are very good and his reviews are all very good. But, he offers a 10% discount if you write him a good review in a forum, so it was hard for me to find any reviews of his actual work. Now, a friend of mine used Octavio for her wedding about two years ago, her pictures look good and some are featured on his website... the bride coming out of the jungle. But, they just didnt grab me. Cecelia Dumas is also affordable and another one that I had on my top list.

  3. I was thinking about having breakfast or lunch with the girls and moms and giving them out there... then that means I will have to lug them to where ever we eat. Or while we are getting ready. I ordered them custom bags already, I plan to order them hangers, maybe a rollerball perfume, thank you cards, maybe personalized flasks, sleepshirt.. I have 8

  4. they sound good. My bag will basically consist of items we didnt think to bring to our first trip in mexico. Medication (pepto bismal, alka seltzer, advil) a welcome brochure with events and guests, bug spray, I think I should look for bug spray now actually. I plan to buy big containers of bug spray and fill them into travel size spray bottles and put them in there with a sticker. Aloe, maybe mini body washes, loofas, candles, playing cards. I want to make the key fob thing too

  5. I purchased the, zazzle deal. I plan to use the boarding pass design for my thank you for booking cards. Only because I made 60 jackets already. I also plan to put my zazzle invites in a pocket folder paper with cards containing info on booking, flight information etc. I plan to send my invites out in june. So, if they booked already that's great, they'll still get an invite... if not it will be a reminder

  6. @@Wafflesmom I love moon palace. I was just looking at other resorts yesterday and felt that maybe I should be chose a cheaper resort for guests. But then I'd be paying way more for the wedding.

I'm on my phone so I can't really comfortably do a long post.

but like you waffles mom I did pretty much a lot. I booked the DJ. We chose DJ disco movil. His prices were really great and Ni budget including the outside vendor fee of $800. For photography we are going to go with cecilia dumas. The deposit should be paid today. I'm debating on who to use for our trash the dress I'm debating between cecilia dumas and the other photographer that I just learned of today I can't remember their name but the prices are really good and the pictures are really good as well. Videography I was planning to book with indigo however I really don't want to do such a large deposit of 40%. I was hoping to stay within the 20 to 30 percent range for deposits.

I found my dress at a local bridAL store for like 40% off. I plan to go dress shopping with my mom in April and I hope she loves it too.

I sent out my save the dates in September and plan to send put incites in june. Hopefully after the holidays and tax season more people will be booking. One of my bridesmaids said that she was trying to find one of our friends to share a room with her, and apparently they aren't thinking about it yet, because it's in 2016.. smh. I booked it further out to give people plenty of time to pay and plan, but if I booked it too soon it would be inconsiderate. .. I don't get it.

I have chair sashes and table runners, custom canvas bags for my bridesmaids, I plan to buy our wedding bands on black friday.

For oot bags I'm just going to use paper gift bags and fill them with odds and ends.

I found shoes I like, but I'm not buying anything unless there's a good deal. I want blue shoes. I live near a formal consignment shop and will check them out every now and then for good shoes

  7. Riu Palace Mexico and Riu Palace Riviera Maya are great resorts, I have stayed there. Riu has packages that include up to 25 guests. They charge extra for each guest. I am getting married at Moon Palace, I think their benefits are great for large groups, Playacar Palace is also a great resort as well and the location is PERFECT, I toured there.

  8. So, I am a big weave wearer.  I recommend genesis virgin hair, genesisvirginhair.com I typically order the Peruvian straight. The hair is a nice quality and affordable. You just wash it like you would any other hair and then have it installed whichever way you want. It blends nicely. Brazilian is a more silkier texture and Peruvian is thicker. I plan to order Brazilian wavy soon. The hair can be colored, bleached, holds curls nicely, whatever you choose. I just wash it and give it a good deep condition.

I do not recommend buying hair from Sally's. If you are near a local Beauty Supply store, I would recommend "Remy Saga" or "Remy Saga Gold" if you are looking for something cheaper, I recommend Outre Human Hair.

The beauty supply store brands can also be found online at hairsisters.com

    Hope this helps

    P.S.

The hair used for sew ins and clip ins, glue ins etc. is all the same it's just how the hair is installed. For example, you can buy a bundle of hair and sew it in, or have it cut so that it is glued in, or you can have it cut and sewn to a hair clip/comb to make clip ins.

  9. @@travelgal78 actually I am not sure. One of my close friends has a travel agency and I didnt use her for numerous reasons. But, all of the rates that I got back from each travel agent were different. No two had the same quote. Yea "clicking" is cool, but price is always a determining factor. At the end of the day a travel agent, is about their money as well and knows that they have to make a sale. BTW I am working with a travel agent from Wright (they own this forum) and she has been absolutely amazing. So, I am winning all over, I trust her, we click, and the price was the best for my guests.

  10. @@jeffandrobyn Jennifer, while she was very nice. Her prices were too high. When I told her the rates I received she said "they dont include transportation" and I'm talking almost an extra $200 a person. Now, if I never been to the area before I mightve went with her. But, I know how much transportation typically costs. I reached out to about 7 travel agents and hands down Wright for me, couldn't be topped. I def say shop around if you're not ready to settle and see what you find. I was interested in destinationweddings.com, however I did not like that you have to pay before they will talk with you, so if you decide not to go with them you lose your money.
