  1. I have 38 brand new assorted luggage tags, I was going to use them for a shower favor or in OOT bags but ended up having too many people come and this was an early purchase not thinking we would have more than 50 come. Selling for a $1 each, $38 for all. Buyer pays shipping which should fit in a flat rate box. Paypal only please

  2. Iberostar Quetzal and Tucan brides! You have probably already heard that there was a fire at the resort on the weekend and it will now be closed until mid-December while they rebuild. Just wanted to give a heads up if not as I haven't seen it through traditional news sources. Our wedding is at the end of January so I'm hoping their estimated reopening date is accurate!!!

I have seen the resort is back up and running so that's one less thing for you to worry about! Very exciting it is getting so close!

    1. We were planning on renting out the disco since it included drinks for 50 people, DJ and room for a set price but was informed of it being remodeled a month before we were set to leave. This was my moment of panic/bridezilla moment but it worked out in our favor. We ended up having a meeting room for the reception and we loved it. She must have misunderstood before I know it's $100 per hour for a dj.

    2. We ended up using Ivan Luckie and we are still waiting for our pics. I have seen people being very happy with the resort photography as well. We wanted more than 3 hours and thought their packages were really pricey for what you get.

    3. I actually did not need my dress steamed at all. Where I got my dress she did it all before putting it in a dress bag and said if I needed something to hang it up while running the shower. I brought a travel steamer as well which the guests used more than anything. I would think it would depend on what kind of material your dress is. I just didn't trust leaving my dress with just anyone so I tried to cover the bases myself.

  4. Hi everyone! I'm a December 2016 Tucan bride (I know- awhile away!). Since it is SO far away I'm not getting too many answers- which completely makes sense since the wedding is so far away. With my Type A personality and trying to budget I like to have as much information as possible!

Can anyone answer any of these questions?

    1. When do you need to provide the final headcount. I might have more than 30 but not sure. I read that if you have more than 30 they recommend renting out a restaurant. I don't want to commit to that too soon since I don't know if we will get over the 30 mark.

    2.  If we do end up renting out a restuarant do any of you know if you then have a dance floor? I'm thinking if you are spending an extra ~$1000 it should be more like a traditional reception?  I know I read somewhere you can get a DJ but I was thinking of just using an iPod... does anyone know if this is an option? And if so does it cost money to rent equipment like speakers, etc?

    3. And lastly I plan on using the photographer that the resort usually works with. Does anyone know how far in advance I need to contact them? Is it too soon now?

    Thank you all so much!!!

There is an option to use the DJ the resort has for $100 an hour which is alot cheaper than the outside quote they gave me.  If you rent out the restaurant there will not be a dance floor set up. Our wedding was July 10 and I sent the wedding planner the updated guest total June 17. As a heads up, you will more than likely get very slow email responses especially being that far out. My wait time once I got to Alejandra the actual wedding planner was at the longest a week but that isn't until a month or so out. Alejandra is amazing though and will make everything perfect! If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

  5. My best advice is don't sweat the small stuff because it seriously will not matter! Did everything go perfectly as planned? Absolutely not! It was perfect weather all week until an hour before the wedding. It was torrential downpour and since we were getting our hair and makeup done off the resort they were calling the guys all day to see if we wanted to move inside. It cleared up and we went with our gut and stuck with the plan to get married on the beach which thankfully was the right call. But looking back on the day it was beautiful and perfect because I was marrying the love of my life surrounded by so much love from our family and friends.

Oh and carry on your dress and make sure you have a clear plastic cover for your dress just in case security needs to look/touch it. That way their grubby hands won't get it dirty!

  6. @@jsparrow10 congrats!!!! I'm so glad to hear that the wedding planner is great! I booked my date for December 2016- it just seems like the best deal! I have may questions but I guess the main ones are:

    1. How did it feel getting married on the beach of the resort? From photos I can see that there are beach chairs and people all around (obviously!) and I was just wondering if it's awkward at all.

    2. How many people did you have? I'm only having a few (probably around 10).

    3. How far in advance did you book your hotel rooms? (For you not your guests!)

    4. How was the photographer?

Okay I think that's all for now!!

    Congrats again!!

    @@lcole1 Thanks!

    1. Getting married on the beach is amazing. It is in the area to the right so it is more secluded. There are not beach chairs around but there were people watching but honestly did not even know until I saw the pictures of it!

    2. We had 74 people

    3. We booked our rooms if I remember in Sept for our July wedding

    4. We did not use the resort photographer but Ivan Luckie

  7. This whole wedding process I have done alot of my own design stuff paperwise. I surprised myself since I am a dance teacher and never really worked on stuff like that! I'm sharing what I have made to help out other brides! It has cut costs with DIY and not buying stuff off etsy, etc. Enjoy! Let me know if is does not work! I can also attach the pdf since I have downloaded alot of fonts which might not load on your computer when you open them!

  8. My fiancé and I have been together for almost seven years.  I don't doubt for a second being together forever.  Maybe it is because we compliment each other so well but the wedding planning has been a breeze.  We are having fun with the planning.  He has brought a lot of great ideas to the table (like a shadow box in the shape of Mexico for our guest book alternate-- I would have never thought of that) and he has been really involved which has made it more for us than just for me.

When you say you met someone what does that mean?  Acquaintance? Secret lover? Friend?  If your mind is wandering before the wedding that should be a red flag.  I don't think you should blame wedding planning for straining your relationship.  This is supposed to be fun.  My sister called off her wedding 48 hours before it was supposed to happen.  She said she didn't want to spend the rest of her life sitting on the couch watching TV.  She wanted to go out and see the world.  If you are unhappy with how he is then it is important to re-evaluate what you want.  His job situation likely will not change after the wedding and it's a lot more expensive to walk away after the wedding than it is to walk away before.

I'm glad you guys are having such a breeze planning but it's important to remember everyone's experience is different. I have loved the planning part even though it has mostly been me and I didn't expect him to care about all the details going into it. Has it been stressfree? Absolutely not! The finances and paying for everything has been super stressful. Has it caused fights? Absolutely! But we work it out together. He prob doesn't even know we're supposed to have a guest book! Haha

We have been together for 5 years, lived together for 2 and we've had discussions about not being just roommates. As you get more comfortable there's not as much effort hence watching tv. Relationships do take effort and it's important the longer you are together to still take time out and go on dates. Maybe take a break from planning, get a sitter and just spend some quality time together. If the loving feelings are there then yes cold feet. If while you're with him and your mind wanders to that other person then maybe it does need looked into more. You're human, other people have crossed my mind but they cross right out of it as well and it goes back to FI. My advice would be to reevaluate how you feel after a date night.
